Yea a lot of us were controlled by that desire to be accepted in white power and worked toward not being natural anymore. I did not notice it back when I had my afro. Now I am trying to undo the changes that we was being controlled by.
A lot of blacks do not know that if you raise your kid up with them just combing their hair and never cutting it you would never need any grease or the other stuff. I knew a dude in Las Vegas that has never cut his hair a day in his life. His mother never had it cut and he didn't. He has a giant afro and it looks like their is no way an afro comb could go thru it but it can and easily because he always combed in every day and his mother did also. He only washes his hair once a month and he has never used any grease. He washed his hair one day and showed it to me. Then he combed it and an hour later he combed again and parted it. There was oils on his scalp and in his hair but the oils were produced naturally by his scalp.
When we was young our mothers forced us to have our hair cut for school and we use to be crying and fighting the barber. I always hated getting my hair cut when I was young.
