That is arguably the dumbest shit ever. Some smooth brain reasoning. HIP HOP is Black culture. The same way no one is calling Rolling Stones too old for Rock Music. I am not going to be calling Rakim to old for HIP HOP.
You both don't get the humor, though. It's meme humor.

Somebody says something: a statement a person doesn't agree with or a person acts counter to that.

Then the "me" is a contrast to that first statement.

So this meme is saying, fuck that...I don't have to grow up to listen to hip hop. I'm still apart of the culture and by dressing the man up in those clothes, it's a humorous twist.

I get that it's supposed to be humor. Been heard that joke several times and I still don't find it amusing or entertaining.

It's still a corny joke though.

They always try to label hiphop like it's for young people when the music today is trash compared to back then. Also, I'm not saying all the music is trash in this generation but most of them are since anybody can be a rapper today without putting in any work.

It's great to see the OG's who are still in the hiphop game making music.

You still don't get that joke, though. It's more self-deprecating humor than anything. Plus, if you got the joke then you wouldn't say all of that to me. It's like you're preaching to the choir.

Yet, lexx don't agree with the joke but you seem to agree with him saying " I hear you" but want to double down with that lame ass joke to me.

You got it partna.

Stand on your own, bro. Don't try to get Lex to stand behind you...that ain't cool. I responded to you more, because you came at me with a paragraph, but you didn't like my response. Homie, you only understand about 38% of the jokes I say on BGOL. Most things go over your head and I have to explain to you where the joke was. Man, either you're high functioning person with autism or you're a literal Vulcan:

I loved 70s, and some 60s music. But the 50s didn't matter to me as much.
Asking me back then to choose between G Rap and Ray Charles would've had older people looking at me crazy too.:D

These kids see the 90s as the 50s. I'm sad for them, but I get it.
Yeah but all that is a different genre. You won’t hear any R&B artist young or not dissing Stevie Wonder, Al Green , Marvin Gaye etc. Chris Brown and Usher worship Michael Jackson and didn’t diss him. We talking the same genre , it’s odd seeing young people diss older rappers. I don’t ever recall dissing LL Cool J or Kool G Rap or saying I don’t listen to them. Good music is good music. These new niggas are weirdos emo fags.

It makes no sense to compare old people who grew up on Miles Davis to younger kids listening to a brand new genre like hiphop. Would that same older generation diss all new jazz artists?

You're right and I know this, but for the sake of reference it's all I had.

Take the genre out of it to get to my thought process: Youth and struggling to connect to an era.
