its a long story......but it basically boils down to a track that me, my brother, and my other 2 friends did during Playaz Ball in 97' on the campus of GSU.
We were a group, but we weren't signed to anybody. And i didnt know how the legalities would work out with that shit since i was playing college ball as well. But we would still perform the track in various clubs and whatnot.
So one day, we ran into a rap group from Atlanta called P.A., and we performed it for them. And they were like.....yall niggaz got a hit right here.
They asked if we were signed and we had copyrights to the song, this that and the third. But being young and naive, we didnt see the tale tell signs of what was bout to happen and how to read between the lines.
A few months later,....its 98 by then, and we hear Youngbloods doing a rendition of our song, but just leaving off one key word in the hook to make it more radio friendly......and it actually became one of their biggest hits.
Our version was called "Shake Them Hoes Off",...and they just basically changed it to "Shake Em Off".
Really wasn't shit we could do, cuz we never got the song copywritten.
Had to sit and swallow that "L" and be envious for a long ass muthafuckin time.
