The Trans-Atlantic slave trade;A White mans' perspective.

You will never have a true perspective on anything history wise if u depend on a k-12 education

Can someone give an idea or summary of what that perspective is before i devote an hour of my time? I appreciate the effort but i wish the fella's would do a better job providing info or direction on what they post, especially those of long duration.

Y'all are trying to hard to be smart. Read the comments section of any news article pertaining to black folks to get the white man's perspective. You don't see shit about the Nazi's perspective of the Holocaust. Our people were the victims.:smh:

What's do news articles have to do with the trans Atlantic trade? Besides slaves do you know what else was traded?

Do some reading on the arawak Indian tribe that are now extinct because of colombus... Did u learn about that in k-12 fam ?

if the op posted something regarding rap beef, some bullshit some athlete said this would of been on 4 plus pages.

Most of the time, good things do not come easy. To gain a better understanding of something, 'time' must be devoted. Knowledge is never a waste.

Nope; That's 'intelligent'. Just watch the video, I promise it won't bite you.

You clearly aren't reading what I said. I will break it down for you again.

If you want to know what the white man feels about blacks and slavery, you can read the comments section of any news article pertaining to a black person. It is some of the most vile and offensive shit you could read.

Again, the point I was making about K-12 was that I learned enough about what the white man's perspective about slavery was during that time period. As in, most of the history books(usually written by white men) barely touched on the issue and when it did, it was a footnote in the fairytale of the greatness of our "forefathers".

I didn't think I would have to dumb it down for y'all like that.:dunno:

Anything pertaining to our ancestors and our past on this side of the world including our journey from Africa to this land should be knowledge and ALWAYS worth taking a listen or a read.

again... its sad to see, but many of our brothas and sistas just dont get it, and more than likely WON'T get it EVER!

Already understood...but not 'all' white people 'think' the same way regarding history. The thing is; is that I went into the video thinking the same thing, and I was gracious in having been proved wrong. I knew most of what he lectured on but did learn something. I put the "white mans perspective" in the title not for prejudgement, but for preemption, for the lecturer is white, and that many (who choose to watch the video) would be surprised that there are 'some' whites who understand.

I totally agree. At its core, whites were an instrumental part in many of the cogs of black freedom, i.e. The Underground Railroad. All whites aren't racist, but the many of the ones that had/have influence over the quality of African-American life are.

I just took offense to the way that the thread was titled in the context of slavery.:dunno:

You could have devoted the same time you did writing this condescending riddle to actually addressing the issue. Im well aware of the value of knowledge and the importance of investing time in order to achieve. I dont need a fucking lecture or some backhanded advice, a summary or direction would greatly assist those of us who actually have shit like work and responsibilities to tend to in between browsing. Again, my point is that links are better served when presented with more than just a fucking title and a "watch this" equivalent.

And that is why I said to 'bookmark' for when you 'do' have the time. Leisure and convienance are always the enemy of effort.

Although history is in their perspective already...

Bookmarked for later consumption

We as a people have to get past that 'offense', so that we can eliminate its' effects, 'effectively'. Plus whites are more instrumental in dismanteling white supremacy among their own.
