Just got invited to one of those society events in D.C. Supposed to be held at a new "exclusive" you gotta know someone to get in, spot in D.C. called "The Space"

No address yet - no signs out front.

Looks like a place where they serve finger sandwiches with the crust cut off.

Anyone know anything about it ...

Sometimes you gotta be careful in D.C. with these exclusive spots. You run into some really wild and freaky shit. Fucking egalitarians and aristocrats are crazy as fuck yo!
 
Went last Friday, cool spot with a good vibe. No finger food or food period! LOL They don't have a kitchen. They eventually had one plate of cheese & crackers. Drinks were ok and the rooftop was a nice change. Definitely worth checking out. There was a fashion show later in the night but I left before that.
 
I've never heard of this "new" place but it is a good chance that it's not new at all. Heck, you may have already been there in the past when it was called by another name.


A lot of clubs/bars in DC are the same real estate (sometimes even same owner), but just a different name or different promoter. As lucrative as night clubs/bars/cafes can be, it's doesn't compare to office space. Once zoning is approved for a 20 story building, that one story night club can kiss their ass and their lease goodbye....no matter how much the bar brings in.

Cool. Thanks Picasso. They haven't hit me with the address yet. Where is it? They're trying to keep it secret until the last minute (don't as why).

They mentioned it's one of the few places left in D.C. where you can smoke so to bring your finest cigars. Do they have a cigar bar?

Nah, I know most of the major and indie club promoters and owners here in D.C. This isn't them. Too "off the radar"

I have a feeling it's owned by this Turk and Pakistanian duo that own 18th Street Lounge, Local 16, Five, and Dragon Fly.

Or this one Persian Diplomat kid who's been trying to make a name for himself with Daddy's money.

But you're dead ass right about the conversion to retail/office zoning - much more lucrative and consistent every month with no variation. You know what you're making every 1st of the month.

I'm surprised Eye Bar near the White House hasn't been taken out yet.

corner of 9th & N st NW. by the convention center. not really a secret. they've got a website.

Picasso got it right, the rooftop is the best part as long as the weather holds.

cool spot. worth the trip. don't know about the cigar bar, but they definitely put em in the air on the roof.
