i was sitting back trying to figure out how did fifty sell so much units on the GRoDT album(11mil+)- was it really because of EM's fans?-- maybe but the one thing i remember about that album was the promotion, --Hova's Hard knock life , ,or was it In the life n times of S.C -anyway his promotin was a benz giveaway or some shyt like that , anyway back to fity--this dude's promotin was gunit spinners- i think they was givin up like 4 , between em signing fity n the spinners i can see why his album sold so much n thats why the 2nd didnt do better -he didnt use the same promo maybe confused: :smh: :smh:

I was halfway through googling sourdeise thinking it must be some good ass drink to have you wondering about 50's marketing campain then I realized you must have meant sourdeisel. So the answer to your question is yes you need to put down the sourdeisel. 50 pioneered using mixtapes and underground buzz to promote an album. Way before GRODT the streets were on full blast with 50's first album power of the dollar and he was killing them with mixtapes at least once a month. Pretty much everybody in the entire hip-hop industry was a 50 cent fan at that point. After he became successful the hate soon followed as it always does.

yea i understand all that underground mixtape buzz, but at the same time 80% of his sells came from areas, shall i say , that dont have mixtapes curuits<---?, like minnissota,montana,idaho,canada,overseas-i could b wrong--my spelling is hella bad , but just though i figured it out - cus i know im bout the only one i know that actual bought that album from the store, n most ppl in major cities by bootlegs, ok, im puttin the spliff down, im buggin

Actually the G-unit chains were for the Beg 4 Mercy album. 50 was sucessful at that point in time becuz it was destined for him to be. He had everything in line, he had Em, Dre, and he was punishing Ja and Murder Inc. He also laid alot of groundwork with his mixtapes which were both buzzworthy and lucrative.

You can not like 50 for whatever reason, but no one cannot say the man isnt one of the smartest artist in the industry. All that time he spent in the hospital, dude was planning all of this. 50 dont smoke, dont drink, all he do is fucking think. And i give dude props for what he pulled off.

Unfortunately, he got a problem on his hands with Cam. Cuz that Curtis joint funny as a muhfucka, Im waiting to see what 50 comes with after that.

I thought his first album was average and Em saved it. I don't listen to it except for Patiently Waiting and Don't Push Me, other than that it collects dust. I admit I got caught in the hype and was ready to support another Dre. artist, but when I popped it in over my friends house, I immediately wanted my 18 bucks back. So I didn't bother with his second as I thought it was wack, I mean he dogged Ja Rule's gay ass for singing on every damn song and then turns around and does the same thing. Then there was that wack ass magic Stick song Lil Kim. It was a mess to me but 50 Cent fans made sure he went platinum and showed up in droves to buy it. 1 Million records in four days for a wack album? Well that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

50 Cent is wack to me. So is the rest of G-Unit, so is Dipshit for that matter.
