As some of you may or may not know, I produce live shows for conferences for a living. Well today, I did a roundtable discussion with Bob Woodward, Bill Page, Robert Novak and a couple of other syndicated columnist.

The topic of the current presidential race and contenders came up and Robert Novak was asked who he thought should/would be the VP for each candidate on both sides, well for Clinton he said Obama, no big suprise. Obama he mentioned a couple of generals and Senator Webb. The Repubicans were a different story. He assured the crowd McCain had a lock on the nomination. Guess who he said would be the ideal/perfect candidate who's actually INTERESTED?

Its not Liberman, it's not any of his current contenders...

Robert Novak said Condoleezza Rice.

The crowd had a serious WTF moment as did I. Then he broke it down.

She's black, she's a woman, she's highly respected, she's considered brilliant, white people LOVE her, it would also make history and she's strong on international affairs and brings a stronger conservative base than McCain's moderate/independent pull. She'd be available and is interested.

Emotions aside, if McCain gets the nomination and Rice accepts as VP, unless Obama can find one HELL of a candidate, this might be a BIG issue.

Thoughts?

I dont see it being a big issue at all. The Republicans will not win the white house. Do you realize that in every status thus far, record numbers of Democrats have been voting (even in so-called red states). THis is a sign that a change is coming, whether they like it or not. Also, Black people and MOST Americans would see that ticket as the same old status quo of Bush policies. McCain will lose for sure if he chooses ANY Bush cabinet member as his VP.

i think people want change meaning away from bush, but they'll take it in as acceptable a form as they can get it. some random sampling in a room full of white people showed me clinton isn't out of the running and the average white person behind closed doors will vote their true hearts. does that equate to a black man? not sure yet.

black man vs. white man, most of white america is gonna make that choice. not who's the best to lead the country.

Bill Page had an interesting notion about Obama today. He said people don't like Obama necessarily, they like what he represents. Which is hope. Hope to do what, be what and have what is another story. He said he's not even sure Obama knows

Cunna-lingus Rice represents nothing more than a "water-carrier" for the Bush Administration. Even white voters know this. Only the hardest of hardcore conservatives would support her as a VP.

It appears you haven't been paying attention to the pulse of America and the movement that is brewing and has been brewing since the last mid-term election...

Wow I never thought of that team. I tell you what though. If the choice is Hillary and a white man vs. Mccain and Conee Rice then I tell you what I will be voting republican for the first time in my life. But until then OBAMA IN 08

So, you'd vote for that Bushie just because she's Black...regardless of her political and moral values about this country?

Ignorance is bliss.

Who here is voting for Obama because he is Black? And if they are, then yes, they are ignorant as well as those who are voting for Hillary because she is a woman. There is enough ignorance to go around.. he doesnt hold the patent...

check the first 3 pages of this board and you tell ME...

baggage wise, i'm not so sure, people see this presidency as bush/cheney more than the bush administration, unless you work for the government, and without looking it up, i'm sure nobody can name more than 3 cabinet members in bush's current administration.

plus, if you haven't noticed, rice fell off the face of the earth...she hasn't been in the news at all. the state of the union was the first time i saw her on tv in literally months..

I hope McCain does choose Rice, it will make it so much easier for the Dems to win come November, period. They will have so much ammo on her they wouldnt need to campaign against McCain. AND THATS REAL TALK!

 this broad was National Security Advisor for the Bush fuck up with the war!

Rice has no credibility. She's Bush's goon and nobody, republican or democrat, want anything to do with Bush.
