Do you think she would have let a Black man do all this? She apparently has dated Black men and left relationships for less.

If you were scrolling TikTok this month, you may have encountered a saga dubbed
"The Danish Deception."
A multi-part series chronicling the harrowing romantic entanglement at the center of
ex-"Bachelor" star Onyeka Ehie's life,
the deception has lit the comment section (and TikTok's duet function) ablaze as countless users weigh in on the fairytale-turned-nightmare love story.
Ehie, who appeared on
Colton Underwood's season of
"The Bachelor," told users in a string of direct-to-camera videos (some of which have garnered millions of views) that she felt compelled to share her story in part to demonstrate that "love is a powerful drug and it clouds our judgement."
The story, which chronicles Ehie's three-year-long love affair with a faux Danish royal Olympian who she said turned out to be a scammer, unfurled on TikTok in over 20 parts. Following Reesa Teesa's popular
"Who TF Did I Marry" video saga, Ehie's "The Danish Deception" exposed the man who the former reality star claimed she "truly believed was going to be the love of my life and the father of my children."
"I now believe him to be the most despicable, two-faced, narcissistic evil person I have ever encountered in my life," she said.
The Danish Deception summary: Royal title, Olympic handball and a gambling addiction
Ehie starts her tale describing how she and her ex met on a trip to Croatia. Their flirtations continued on social media, and he began messaging her before he eventually flew her out to meet him in Europe to enjoy a lavish vacation in the south of France. He told her he was from a royal bloodline and had competed at the Olympics, she alleges, and charmed her immediately.
As their courtship continued, feelings grew, and he came to visit her in Dallas, she said. The two wed just months into the relationship in a small courthouse ceremony, Ehie said, and he eventually decided to move to Texas to be with her. Throughout, however, she began to loan him money, not thinking much of it at first as she viewed them as a "partnership," but eventually feeling the strain as the numbers racked up from $6,000 to $18,000, to a push to use her credit cards for a vacation once they became strapped for cash.
While Ehie peppers the story with excitement and strong emotion, insisting she was head over heels, their timeline became dotted with requests from him for additional funds, either to help out a friend's investment or to pay someone back.
The sauce thickened when he encouraged her to quit her steady six-figure accounting job and pivot back to working in real estate, and that he would support them financially. That promise fell through, she said, when he said his funds were frozen by Danish tax authorities. Later that year, when she spent Christmas with his family, a close friend revealed that he had a gambling addiction, which he said he overcame a decade prior.
That gambling addiction came into further focus later in the story, after Ehie discovered he had allegedly relapsed and that one of her friends had loaned him $200,000 for an alleged crypto deal, which he never paid back. The love story picked up steam again, though, when she felt he was working toward kicking his gambling addiction and taking accountability.
What followed, though, was a roller-coaster of wire transfers, wedding planning and giving him access to her credit card, where he allegedly pulled out another $7,000 to fuel his gambling addiction. A private investigator hired by Ehie's friend also discovered her ex lied about his Olympics medals and never actually competed. She later found out from his family that they never held a royal title either, and an ex-girlfriend told Ehie that they were still in their seven-year relationship when he began romancing Ehie in 2022.
For viewers who made it all the way to Part 26, the final tab totaled in the tens of thousands, borrowed from Ehie, her family and her friends, and never made whole.
Danish Deception relationship timeline
Ehie and her ex began their relationship June 2022, only ending their relationship with an official divorce earlier this month.
Danish Deception TikTok comments range from supportive to suspicious
Reactions on the internet were mixed, with some expressing empathy for Ehie, who said she was blinded by love and taken advantage of.
"He took money from your parents???????????!!!!!!!!!" one user wrote in all caps. "That broke my heart."
Others, however, raised eyebrows at the number of trips the pair took amidst astronomical debt. Some compared the story to
Netflix's "The Tinder Swindler," and many commenters also expressed frustration that she stayed despite the number of red flags.
"You can't blame his family," one user wrote after Ehie said she tried not to feel "resentment" toward her ex's family. "His friend warned you, and you chose to fix him instead of cutting your losses."
"I'm excited to move on," Ehie said at the conclusion of the series. "I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being here and letting me bear my soul to you guys. This has been the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life."
