Although it is mistakenly explained by scientists that our atmosphere turns into greenhouse, it is actually much more complex. The energy reflected off our surface has little to do with increasing temperatures. It is not trapped in the atmosphere. It is actually the energy coming in that increases temperatures. We are also equalizing our temperature extremes that occur at the equator and North Pole.
The increase of carbon dioxide and other elements in the atmosphere radically changes the distribution of energy in our atmosphere. A simple test to understand what occurs when we burn fossil fuels is to take a piece of metal such as a steel sheet and wood board.
The wood board would mildly increase in temperatures. Although you can't see it, photon particles are able to pass through the wood fibers easily and strike other things further away. There is also energy that is reflected. In your house, wood is simply allowing light through, passing through the wall board and exiting your house without being conducted or building up energy. The particles of matter are weakly bound, allowing them to accelerate away easily without the buildup of energy. This is what our atmosphere use to be, it buried the energy of the Sun deep into the Earth, where it was stored. Of course, if reflected some of the energy back into Space. In effect decentralizing the distribution of the Sun energy over a greater area, keeping temperatures low.
We know that the metal sheet would be scorching hot in the Sun. Whenever matter accelerate away poorly, it causes a buildup of energy due to high binding force. However, most people don't notice is that the temperature drops somewhere else, maybe a 1000 feet away that is no longer struck by photons. The metal sheet is more densely packed.
This is what our atmosphere is turning into now, the Sun's Energy is being stored in the atmosphere of our planet and not going into the Earth where it would not affect us that much. In effect, centralizing energy on the surface and equalizing our temperatures between the poles and the equator. Yes, carbon dioxide and other elements are a conductor that will seek to equalize temperature extremes. This can throw off our measurement of average temperature increase! It could be much worse....
The Solution...
