What do you guys think about this? Could be good? bad? Stated could tie all the past movies all together. Days of Future Past was a great storyline too.

Rumored earlier this week, the sequel to 2011's X-Men: First Class is officially titled X-Men: Days of Future Past. IGN scored a confirmation directly from the film's producer, Bryan Singer.

"It's called 'Days of Future Past'," he told the site. "It deals with aspects of that comic, but also some very new things."

The comic book storyline, "Days of Future Past" ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 way back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

They better make it dope and thougful on some inception type shit.

Days of Future will be hard as fuck to pull off (if not done right). Man I fucking can't wait....:dance::dance:

With First Class???

I forgot how old Wolverine was in this...Hugh Jackman would def need to reprise the role for this one as others stated...the movies gonna fuck it up somehow tho :(

*Edit*

I'm thinking even tho they naming it Days of Future Past it won't really tie into the comic book storyline that much :dunno:

I'm curious as to whether or not Wolverine will even be involved given that they are planning another Wolverine origin flick.

One of my Favorite X-Men comics ever.

I didn't think I would like First Class but i did. I only watched it because they had Banshee, and it turned out to be really good.

I have to watch Superhero Movies like an action movie fan not a comic book fan.

Pulling out "Days of The Future Past" is a tricky call. I won't expect it to be anything like the comic.

Too many resets in Comic book movies.

Read that they are going to reset Daredevil.
If they would have done it right the first time they wouldn't have these problems.

At least give it 20 years.
Did Spiderman really need to be reset?

all about the $

each passing generation doesn't want their old man's comic book heroes and villains. they want more modern versions. so hollywood is happy to accomodate them.

sometimes you get a good writer who fleshes out a character with improved back story. and sometimes you get ridiculous shit.

I believe they will use the alternate dimension / time warp potential to unify the series and bring the First Class cast to the current time. Sort of how they did with the new Star Trek.

That way you can "wipe out" the continuity problems in Wolverine, and the first X-men trilogy.

If done right this will be dope as hell. The article also suggests developing other X-Men properties under a unified universe. That way we can get Bishop, Cable, X-Factor, etc and tie all the properties with a Big Bad villain like Apocolypse.

First Class is in the same continuity as X-Men 1 and 2 (Singer said X-3 and Wolverine don't count) so it is possible.

Whereas your right it is for the money your wrong about it being about the dislike the new generation has for the older generations characters. The reason they reboot it and make new ones is because if they waited 20 years Marvel would gain their properties back and those studios would lose them. that's why your getting a new daredevil, that's why Spiderman was rebooted and thats why they come out with a new non-sensical X-men movie every few years. If we boycotted them we could get X-Men/Spiderman/fantastic four cross overs when Marvel studios gets back the rights, but we know that won't happen..

Nah, Onslaught, The Brood, and Death of the Phoenix were better in my opinion.

The original Brood story was hard as shit. You couldn't see how they were going to get out of that one until the very, very end.

The properties going back to Marvel aside, after a certain number of movies, you have to do a reboot, especially if you the movies are interconnected like the X-Men and Dark Knight movies. You don't want another creative team having to come on board having to carry out someone else's ideas and interpretations.
