Just got done watching the episode where this 22 year old brother got shot and killed trying to sell cocaine to support his family because he lost his job.

On one hand I'm hurt to see a brother loose his life like that but on the other hand I can't help but feel that he didn't have to go that route.

I'm sure that he probably would have had to take a job that didn't pay as much. But to risk your life and to make your wife and son another statistic I just can't help but feel it ain't worth it to go that route.

I know times is hard....but damn....

...It seems that a lot of the episodes the people who die are on some real dumb shit.
:smh::smh::smh:

Either way, my new best show since The Wire.

I hate that show.

Its always young black folks getting killed

I get emotional whenever i watch it.

i watched the one in memphis where this one guy who was back home from doing a 14 yr bid killed 6 people and severly injured 2 kids. One of the 6 guys he killed was his brother. That shit was sad

That show disturbs me everytime I watch it...senseless killings.:smh::smh:

The one that really disturbed me is the one in Memphis where the brother of the dude damn near killed him and his whole family because he was bitter about being locked up.

What really got me is how he killed the 2 and 4 year old and then tried to kill the other two kids with a piece of wood and knives.

I still can't get that fucking episode out my head.

Damn I guess I ain't the only one.

yea that episode was crazy. the scene at the end where dude had to tell his mom that he was the one that he killed all of them was some sad shit.

fucked up part is the cops thought it was gang related and had already moved him and his family to a safe place. :smh::smh::smh:

yep, i saw that one. shit was gripping:confused:

Its an excellent show. It shows what really happens. All these super hard thug cats just straight bitch up when they get caught. I've seen dudes on there that have walked up to people, shot them dead, then calmly walk away, wind up on the floor cryin' for their mamas when they catch them. It puts to lie all this 'super gangsta' everybody's a criminal mastermind bullshit.

You know I kinda feel different about the whole snitching thing after watching this show.

I still think you see something horrible happening in your neighborhood tell the cops (away from the camera). It's one of the way you can help clean up your neighborhood.

But on the flip side of that I think if you dong dirt with your man (not that I am for that behavior in the first place), that if you get caught, keep your mouth shut.

I am happy when everyone gets caught, don't get me wrong, but if you doing dirt with someone, no one forced you in that position.
You get caught, don't snitch.

I don't know maybe just me.

Damn...didn't see that episode, but just reading about it has already fucked up my day...

Thanks, assholes!!!

First of all, I don't believe in the whole "no snitching" thing but, the thing I don't understand is when eyewitnesses are testifying to the police in front of a camera about what they seen or know about the crime. Doesn't this shit come back to bite them in the ass? I would at least come forward anonymously if i knew something. Do they get paid for testifying so openly?

That was the worst one I ever saw.
How the fuck can you kill a 2 and 4 year old?

But I got a lot of respect for those Memphis Detectives. they do shit the right way and alway catch the dudes.

I remember they did some CSI shit when that White dude had killed his cousin and wife. Then he sealed them up in the wall of his house.

But I try not to watch the show unless i have an hour to kill because I know I will be sitting there until the end.
Just like Law and Order, If I get into the story then I HAVE to see how it ends.

a lot of episodes are really mind bogglers. Its to heavy of a show. I think some of these reality shows do not need to be aired.

That shit was fucked up...they left out the part that he might have raped the chick too...DAMN he was sick

Excerpt: "According to the report, Roberson's jeans were pulled down to her knees and underwear to her ankles. Her shirt and bra were pulled up. A plastic bag containing what the report describes as a "hard yellow substance" was found in the genital area." :smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Love this show. They are getting ready to start filming in Birmingham, Alabama. You will see why my city is out of control with dumb as murders.

It's very strange how many thugs on the show are quick to be turncoats , I bet the same thugs would be the ones wearing 'no snitching' t-shirts.

I think this show cements the 'no snitching' movement.

What gets me is when these cops ask the onlookers and neighborhood if they've seen anything and how they're always flabbergasted about the hood "not trying to help themselves". Yet, when they get info from witnesses, it seems like they make no attempt to protect them from any repercussions.

I've seen some interrogators flat out tell the suspects the name of witnesses that saw him/her do the crime.

The police really don't give a fuck about the witnesses/potential suspects/neighborhood or the people it seems. All they care about is closing the case and going home. Fuck who puts themselves in danger for getting the case solved.

The worst is that short, greasy haired detective in Miami. That little muthafucka is the biggest drama queen of all the cops on the show. Loves playing up for the camera.

Damn, i thought i was only watchin this, i love the show but it is embarrassing & hard to watch.

LOL @ 3-6 making a song about it though.

LOL word, i'm shocked at seeing these so called tough guys crying and shit when being interrogated.

Niggaz need guidance, a father figure to show them what being a man is really all about.

Either way, my new best show since The Wire.

You'll feel this way until you've watched a seasons worth of episodes maybe 2. I used to be hooked on this show and intrigued by the destruction and senseless nature of a lot of the crimes, now i'm disgusted by the show and would like to encourage people to write to A&E in protest of its content. Watch this show for a season and keep track of the number of brothers who either loose their life or get locked up. By the end of one season you'll begin to see a pattern, at the end of 2 seasons you'll be asking yourself if any white people ever commit homicides. This show perpetuates the image of the violent black man more than cops, more than the evening news and more than anything i've seen on tv. I've watched this show for about 3 years and I too was hooked, it dawned on me that I wasn't seeing white people and then I started to get angry. Watch the show and tell me if you see a single white person commit a homicide, in 3 years I can thing of only 2 (dude in Arizona and a dude in Pitt or maybe KC). Watch the show but please watch it through curious eyes, this type of programming has to stop. Plenty of white people commit murders yet watching the first 48 will have you thinking nobody else out there is capable of murder.

sometimes i  when i watch the first 48. there are a lot of dudes that do not know their rights. it's sad. the majority of the time they have nothing on these cats..... and they end up writing confessions:smh:.

i saw one episode with the female detective (memphis i think). her and her partner had this dude in the precinct for questioning on a shooting/homicide. keep in mind that son was only a witness to the crime, he knew who did it. anyway they had the suspect in custody and they had the witness in the precinct for mad hours(son aint know his rights). they hit him with everything from conspiracy to murder one untill he finally confessed to seeing the shooter.

this is where it gets crazy. Shorty took the witness into the room with the suspect and was like "this him?" son said yeah. i was like  :smh: WTF?????????? then the bitch had the nerve to tell the witness. now that your conscience is clean you can start a new life away from the drama... or something to that effect. real talk she just signed the niggaz death warrant!!!! i had to rewind that shit like three times to make sure i wasn't buggin.

Man, most of them dudes walk in there on some tough shit at first, mean muggin' the detectives and shit, but as soon as they get up in that room, dudes be talkin' their ass off

And why the "first 48" stay fuckin' with them Memphis, Miami, & Texas boys? even "Cops" go state to state with their show

After watching First 48, I am convinced it is easy as hell to get away with murder.

^^I agree. If most of these people kept their mouths shut they would be good. Some of those dudes are their own worst enemies. I guess on one hand it's good, cause they are off the streets, but damn if your gonna murk somebody keep your yap shut.

Oh and that episode with Junior, that was some cold shit, dude "stuck" the kids with sawzall blades. I kind of suspected him after the death threat from the sisters locked apartment.

It's a pretty good show. It illustrates how dumb most criminals are, as well as browns and whites also kill each other (not that WE don't know that already). Shit I wish they would update some of the cases. I would like to see if the "unsolved" cases were solved, or how much time some of those dumb fucks were given....

Yeah that was that Mason chick, she stays doing the "witness" dirty. Shit for that fact she loves getting in the suspects head as well. Hitting em with that "do yourself a favor" and "Come clean, I already know it was you" bullshit......:smh:
