Dude, smh....
I grew up on J-State's campus. My parents worked there for 30 years. My uncle too. I grew up down the street from Walter Payton's mom. She used to come to our house for Christmas parties. Eddie Payton, Walter's brother used to gut deer he hunted in my backyard. Eddie was also the golf coach at JSU, responsible for 25 SWAC championships. My whole family's alma mater is JSU, my mother, brother, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins...I have a deep history there...
You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about, AT ALL.
I said it was a RUMOUR bruh...
I have zero Idea what goes on in the great Land
of the Mississippi...
I said it was a rumour, and I was only inclined to believe it
because of the fuckery the kkaks do in that state...
to the Original Mississipians..
I feel you, but your reply was based on an emotional
attachment and not facts.
Is Jackson State a historically "black" institution??
It's not emotional, it's logical. I know the history of that school. I know what Dr. John A Peeples, former president of JSU (from 1965-84, and member of our church, he sat two rows in front of me every Sunday) went through trying to keep JSU being a Black school rather than being swallowed up by Mississippi State. I know about JSU, that's what I'm saying.
And yes, it's been a Black school since 1877.
Look, JSU is not perfect by a long shot. Trust me, I know this. But please don't try to connect Brett Farve and that cac governor to anything dealing with JSU.
People are just saying shit at this point, without knowing any facts.
Deion did not go to an HBCU and didn't grow up with the SWAC. That's not a diss, it's just facts. So his perception and what he was in it for is not the same as as somebody who was born onto it, like myself. He came there selling folks on supporting HBCU's and then bounced to go to a white school with more money, the bottom line.
When J-State has the same money as Colorado, then talk shit about JSU. But let's not make this a Deion vs. JSU thing, because this WHOLE circumstance is just another result of systematic white supremacy. JSU is a result of systematic white supremacy. And ws is dividing and conquering as it is meant, as we speak. Rise above the bullshit is all I'm saying.
The white devil is in the details, believe that.
Oh Ok so basically Deion came through selling dreams, got everybody hyped
and then bounced...
So basically you saying he came through like he was all about building a dynasty
and things went too good too fast..
so he ate his words and bounced...
From a capitalistic stand point I understand why he did what he did,
he was always about The Money..
I can also understand the people from JSU that gave him the energy and support
and now the were on the winning side seems like they got snuffed from behind...
To be honest tho, at the end of the day. A man has a right to make his own choice...
Hey Im just tryin to get the vibe for what really went down...
and I just know my Mississipian fam are tired of fuckin gettin the short end
of the stick.
I also know the pinktoe mafia aka the ol boy networks,
got their fuckin tentacles in everything Our people are doing in
the Great Mississippi... a lot of fuckery goes on behind the scenes...
but basically you saying
Deion came through... selling dreams,
then dipped when the going got good ??
or am I missing something??
Yeah, he sold everybody, high school players on coming to hbcu's, saying we can build and all that shit, but then bounced when the whites came calling.
I'm not mad at Deion. When he left I was a lil let down, but if his aspirations are to coach in the NFL, he can't stay at JSU forever. And what allegiance does he owe to the SWAC? J-State was a job for this dude and a stepping stone. He just used the momentum of Black Lives Matter/Kapernick to hype up what he was doing and it worked. He knows how to market. Was he right or wrong for that? Maybe at the time it was sincere. I don't know.
And I also know what spending more than 2 years in Jackson at JSU can do to you when you're used to so much more. I'm sure he encountered some backwards ass shit that he wasn't trying to settle into for the next 10 years. I understand. I had to get outta Jackson my damn self, and I'm from there. I understand.
He made shit happen that has NEVER happened. Which goes to show the power we can have when all hands are on deck. But that's until whitey comes a knockin.
White people are always waiting for us to create some dope shit and get excited about it, and then they start cutting checks because they want it for themselves. Paul Mooney said it best. They come and take you.
I used to live in Jackson. I see people on my FB time line talking BS. My response I've said it here. The man bought Jackson State 2 SWAC undefeated seasons, 2 SWAC championships, notoriety and prestige to the university, lets not forget the financial impact. What more do they want?Oh Ok so basically Deion came through selling dreams, got everybody hyped
and then bounced...

They wanted a dynasty and maybe him to stay long enough where they could get
a t.v deal or something..
Sounds like he made it sound like a family thing, when like everything,
it was just about business...
I do agree tho...they cant see he come through!!
I understand where both sides are coming from,
Im just saying a man has a right to do whatever he
wants with his life...
no matter what anyone thinks..
I thought he got the SWAC a TV deal with ESPN. When I lived in Jackson them negros used to always talk about Jackson State should leave the SWAC and join Conference USA or some other conference and I would just raise my eyebrow and smirk. Like didn't y'all just get dragged by Tulane come back down to reality,They wanted a dynasty and maybe him to stay long enough where they could get
a t.v deal or something..

And therein lies the rub. Nobody is jumping up and down about Dancy leaving Valley. They haven't had a winning season since '06.If Deion was bad at coaching would you still be mad he left?
The MVSU State coach getting a shot to coach at a higher level is nice too.
Despite that the issue is HBCUs and ADOS need to do a better job upgrading the facilities.
NFL/NBA niggas need to be FORCED to give back or be blackballed by the community.
Its been two generations (40) of these athletes making small fortunes and these niggas donate more money to white schools than black.
Its put up or shut up time. Deion and Eddite George are part of the solution but the black business community has to step up corporate wise in order to take care of business.
Too much money is being lost when we could be promoting our business and agenda instead of make white corporate America richer.
This the main part that should have made you shut the fuck up.I said it was a RUMOUR bruh...
I have zero Idea what goes on in the great Land

My father was a valedictorian at a HBCU. I wanted to go to Morehouse. As an adult I now understand why he wouldn't let me attend Morehouse.
I just saw a video of Colorado's university press crew( 2 white guys) and their words were "we don't know how long it will last, how long he will be here whether its 2 years or February. We know a few things if a better opportunity comes for him that means he's had success here. But all we can tell is no matter how long it lasts just enjoy the ride. It’s never enough in our communities
