Keanu Reeves may have priced himself out of starring in Zack Snyder's "Watchmen," but that doesn't mean he's giving up on landing another tent-pole picture for 2008. According to Variety, he found it this past weekend. The star of "The Matrix" trilogy and "Constantine" will return to the genre by starring in Twentieth Century Fox's remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Reeves will play the humanoid alien Klaatu, who arrives on Earth accompanied by an indestructible and powerfully armed robot in order to warn the planet that continued internal conflicts (i.e. wars) will make us vulnerable to an impending attack by another alien species. The "reimagining" is being directed by Scott Derrickson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose"), and Fox is looking for production to begin in either late fall or early next year

I'm sure it will be global warming, instead of war now that the cold war is over, and global warming is the hot topic
