As everyone has realized, the tone of this message board has changed a lot over the past couple of months, especially more recently. Everyone is getting extremely hostile, exposing people's real identities, accusing people of being tranny posters (we haven't had an attack of that sort in a while that i noticed) badmouthing fellow posters that you normally would co-sign with all day. Not too long ago we all celebrated the fact this was a virtual barber shop of sorts where men (and some women) could come, shoot the shit of the day, trade some music, movies, porn and pictures and gain some insightful knowledge on various topics.

Now it's people not respecting other's opinions, people being criticized and even demonized for sharing their opinions or having different opinions. We're all excited about the potential change we're seeing on the political side, but we can't even agree to disagree like adults right now.

I know people will shrug this commentary off, or call me everything from FTP to to an idiot, but in some form i've participated in this board for many years and hate to see the direction its going in...

From one man to another, i'm greatful for this venue to discuss the views and lives of black men, but can we PLEASE get it together?
 
Everything is still good.

We just have a larger variety of simps with which we have to deal (FTP's, racist whiteboys, young knuckleheads, cats that simply hate BGOL from rival boards).

But all in all, BGOL is still doing what's it's done for years.

I wouldn't worry too much.

At one point I told myself these things go in cycles, but I've never seen this place be this bad...so I know where you're coming from.

Just gotta weed and seed through the BS. I know which posters to engage in debate and the ones to avoid. I only have one person on ignore, and Blunt is not that person. :lol:

there are very few threads i am willing to even go into anymore these days. i don't believe in the ignore list. i just avoid going where i'm gonna get vex. these days the health and food threads seem pretty harmless :hmm:

Agreed. I think its a reflection of the influx of youngsters who've come in. Grown men and women know how to discuss things, youngins just argue and show out.
