Dang...thanks to e-disco or whoever it was that brought that up..watching the uncensored version for the first time...the Wire is hot but they go too far left field imo with the cops, the politics, the teachers and now the newsroom...the cop side was okay until they reached with the legalizing of drugs and now the fake serial killer plot...but all the other angles were weak except for the docks...keeping it real the only reason they even tried to hit the other angles was to try and draw in white folks...damn this show broke the Wire down to shit...

stop attention whoring, and read a book nigga

I see what you're trying to do. You're trying the "Hey i'll go against everybody in the worlds opinion because I want to be an Artsy Emo nigga". The fuck outta here son. The corner pales in comparison to the Wire. The wire has so many subplots the retarded simps will not be able to follow the depth of it. It's way more than just the drugs, it's about politics, education and all the real shit that affects all of us. The corner was ONLY about the dope game. If you think the Corner is better than the wire, you're either too dumb for the wire or trying to be a anti establishment type.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I like how the Wire is showing the interaction of all of those entities (hustler, supplier, news, school, docks and families). That is what so many of films and t.v. shows of this genre are missing. Don't get it twisted,... The Corner was dope but just a prelude to The Wire.

I thought the corner was excellent

hell i bought the box set last month

i beleive the wire was based off it

they just took the wire to another level x100

The Wire is cool and it's easily the best show on television right now but that's not saying much...I mean it's obvious the Corner is the jumpoff for the Wire down to the fukkin opening format where they throw the quote up before each episode starts...the Wire tried to take a bigger bite and it succeeded the first 2 seasons...but season 3 was rushed and reached...the only reason I dug the extra angle in season 4 was I could relate directly to it...and season 5 is back on that rushed shit and the newsroom angle and the politics is just slowing up the story...the Corner gives a much deeper introspective into the street side of it but I guess a dumb nigga would call that "artsy"...

The corner was straight, but that shit was too local..Unless you were a dopefiend (or knew one persoanlly-which isn't a strecth in '08), you had to reach to feel their pain. The Wire could be any city, any political structure, and drug kingpin etc. But check the Corner book out, much different than the show, similar to Homicide the book, and The Wire TV show

Exactly my sentiments.

The newsroom plot is too deep for you. Go watch Rambo, it'll satisfy your ADHD.

I gotta watch the Corner (just downloaded it)
but I agree this season of the Wire is especially rushed
The newsroom????? --> A little outdated to be covering that much IMO

McNulty is interesting BUT not that interesting that they need to focus on him so much

but like you said they need to bring in a certain segment of the population....

I agree with them exploring other avenues but this season especially seems rushed

10 episodes is not enough time to tell the story properly

but we got to eat the crumbs we are getting because we are lucky it came back for a 5th season

you do know that the legalization of drugs was an actual idea that the former mayor Kurt Schmoke had right? it never happened but its not as far from the truth as you think. yo the people that created the wire were actual police, teachers and david simon wrote for the Sun, most of the stuff you see is based on real people and real stuff that happened. The Corner is cool but its like a bootleg version of The Wire.

The Corner Was A Raw Look Into The Dope Aspect Of The Hustle And Everyday Life The Wire Is A Look In To Everyday Life Period
