The Combat Jack Show Thread (Illest Podcast Out Right Now)

Been listening for a minute, and even caught up on the old ones

Certain ones are better than others

Clark Kent, Bun B, Ken Montgomery are good ones

I been trying to put BGOL up on this podcast for about a year now but it hasn't seemed to catch like I thought it would. There's mad love for that Rogan podcast from BGOL. It's pretty cool but The Combat Jack Show is home base. The range of guests that they've had on the show alone makes this show the best out. They have all ranges of legends on, behind the scenes legends, well respected legendary journalists.

If I may add one of my favorite shows was from over a year ago. They had Ed Wood on the show (the crazy dude from the Nick Cannon MTV reality show that manages Cory Gunz) yeah that show was a classic and Dallas Penn showed his ass off (pause)

Cosign. I made a couple of combat jack threads that fuckin' flopped. Maybe jack and the boys need to spend more time talking about kettlebells and sex toys.

I totally agree. I'm a fan of Joe Rogan's podcast and I even listen to Tariq Nasheed's podcast but this is the one right here. There hasn't been an episode yet that I didn't like. I just started listening like 2 months ago so I still gotta catch up on the old episodes.

I just started playing that Ed Woods podcast and you could tell Dallas is either high or drunk lol.

Fuck that the world needs to know about this shit. I'm gonna try to up this thread every Thursday.

I find dude really annoying, and like the show better without him

I thought Ed was going to hit him.

I notice you have to put him in his place early, Bleek had to do it, or he continues with the juvenile shit

I find Dallas Penn to be brilliant, but yeah you're right, depending on the guest he can get out of pocket because his brand of humor isn't for everyone. I know I couldn't stand his ass when he was a blogger for XXLmag.com under the alias: Billy X Sunday. I could have lived without Premium Pete though, but he's grown on me lately. I guess that angry new yorker shit has it's place too.

Yeah, Pete used to annoy me also, but the past few episodes with him asking Just for money and complaining about the shirts has been funny

Guru, Premier, D Dot, Redman, Charlamagne, Toure, and Artie Lange ones were good also

Also the Angela Yee, Dream Hampton, Datwon Thomas, Elliot Wilson, Shaheem Reid, Terrance Deen, Dante Ross if you like industry shit

The Jarobi and Dres was the only one I thought that was awful. Jarobi is a horrible interview.

The EPMD was disappointing

YOU GUYS WANT A REALLY GOOD HIP-HOP SHOW THATS A LIVE SHOW AND A PODCAST? IF SO CHECK OUT THE ILL OUT RADIO SHOW.

THAT SHIT PLAYS GOOD HIPHOP AND HAS SUPERB COMMENTARY.

What up with Cormega/Did ya see ‘em/are yall together?..

This episode features none other than the much heralded Queensbridge rap legend Cormega. Let’s just say everything you wanted know about ‘Mega, from his early beginning as a Brooklynite..witnessing the murder of his mother at the tender age of 4….his transition to QB….his love/hate relationship with Nas….The Firm….Chris Lighty….Def Jam, we got you covered. Cormega held no punches word to Nature. Who was The Notorious BIG planning to conquer with “The Commission”? Yep, we know. Just hit play on the podcast below. If you don’t know..It’s The Combat Jack Show. #NoFiller #Newmanati

The Realness.

#RIP Chris Lighty

Dope episode!!! Combat digs up his past and sheds some light on how he persevered throughout his journey as a hip hop attorney in the music business. And of course Cormega, who I'm not familiar with dropped some dope shit as well, I even decided to youtube some of his joints.

Damn, not familiar with Mega?

Yeah, dope episode, I've been a fan of Mega for years, since he was supposed to be in The Firm.

Didn't know he was working with Marley back before he got locked up and he was from Brooklyn.

Everyone sort of fell back and just let him talk and let Combat interview him.

Hope he gets Trag or Shan on the show. Nature's a pretty boring interview.

Nah he never had his own single or had an album drop, so he was off my radar. Even AZ had a hit with Sugar Hill. I do remember the Affirmative Action song though, that shit used to bang.

He's had several singles, since he's had several albums.

You mean he wasn't mainstream.

.

Yeah of course that's what I mean. Out in L.A. we didn't have access to Clue tapes. So before the Internet the only time you got to hear somebody was if they had a video on Rap City or The Box.

Damn I feel like I know Cormega's whole life story now lol. What makes Combat Jack's interviews so dope is that he used to be a lawyer so he knows all of the right questions to ask. Even the episodes where they are just shooting the shit are great too.

This is one of my favorite episodes

Yeah this show is a really great listen. It's one of the best things going in Hip Hop right now. I believe it's the reason Just Blaze decided to become apart of the show. I bet you somebody like Jay (for instance) listens to every episode.

Bump. The new MFN Exquire and Smoke Dza interview was cool. The only thing I'm not feeling is Premium Pete and Combat Jack always getting into it. Shit was funny the first 4 times but now it's annoying.

Yeah but I thought Combat did a good job of fi ally puttin PP in his place. Dude has been wreckless and it's kinda taken away from what I liked about the show. It seems that DP supported Combat on this as well.

That said, this was an alright episode. I could live without the fanboy shit and the underground NY rapper interviews.

It's a New York show. Listen to a LA podcast/show if you don't like it.

You're complaining like Pete.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the NY flavor of the show, just not the underground rapper interviews. If there was a time when I tend to tune out, it's those times.

I am halfway through this week's show and it's already a classic. They brought in a therapist to help them work through the issues they have with each other.:lol::lol::lol:
