BOSTON -- The Red Sox already have two aces in their rotation. Now, they have reportedly added a third. Red Sox, Lackey agree to five-year deal
Report indicates former Angels ace will get $85 million

Red Sox Starting Five Looking really tough.

Josh Beckett
Jon Lester
John Lackey
Daisuke Matsuzaka
Clay Buchholz

These five will be a handful in the the AL East. And they are trying to get that Cuban pitcher Aroldis Champman. They might be a the best starting five in a deep rotation for Boston.

Also the Red Sox working on deal with Cameron.
Veteran outfielder would serve as all-purpose backup.

They are going to be dangerous next season.

BOSTON -- An already eventful Monday for the Red Sox gained further steam in the evening, when reports circulated that the club is in serious talks with veteran outfielder Mike Cameron.

Per the Associated Press, Boston has reached a tentative agreement on a two-year contract with Cameron, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The deal is subject to a physical, the person said on condition of anonymity because the agreement was not yet final.

Still can't fuck with the Yanks. Would have been worried if they got Halladay.

They still did a good job getting Lackey though.

Cameron is a down grade from Bay

And the Cuban Pitcher is supposed to be pitching for a bunch of teams tomorrow if he is good the yanks can beat that offer.

Did the Yankees ever make a offer to Matsui?

word around the camp fire is that Josh Beckett might be traded sooner or later, next year's going to be the last year on his contract and he wants CC money......it'd be smart for the RedSux to get something for him now......

no formal offer to Matsui, rumor has it they talked about about $7mill/1yr.....but his agent thought they could get more and the Yanks weren't really pressing the issue.....

Rumor was the number they wanted him back for was 5 mil for 1 year.

It's tough but I get what they are trying to do he can't play the outfield and they need the DH spot to rest their older players especially Posada.

Plus they can still sign Damon. I don't see anyone paying him 13 mil a year for 4 years that him and Boras want. Cashman is probably gonna give him a 2 for 20 mil offer take it or leave it.

I am really not a big fan of Jorge Posada, I would rather see him traded so that we can bring up Montero to see what he has.

yeah but Jorge is really the captain of that team......let's be honest, Jorge will get in anybody's ass, while Jeter is always the gentleman, he won't even join in the brawls.......

they need Jorge right now, or until someone else steps up...

Exactly he is Jeter's enforcer and you won't find a catcher who hits like him even with his sometimes shaky D. Plus Montero is only 19 they say he can hit but can't catch they are already talking about how he might have to change positions.

Yanks, Red Sox to kick off 2010 season

NEW YORK -- The World Series champion New York Yankees will play the Boston Red Sox in the major league Sunday night opener on April 4.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 nationally but will be blacked out on the ESPN2 in the areas of the two teams, where it will be broadcast on their local networks. The game originally had been scheduled for Monday, April 5.

When the schedule was announced in September, Yankees ace CC Sabathia anticipated the shift.

"It'll be cold. We know that for sure," he said, laughing. "To get in there right away and mix it up will definitely be good for baseball. I'm sure it'll be like a Sunday night baseball game or something like that, so that'll be cool."

New York also closes the season at Fenway Park and plays Boston six times in its last 10 games.

The rivals also opened the season at Yankee Stadium in 2005 following Boston's first World Series title since 1918. The Yankees hold an 18-10 advantage in openers against the Red Sox with one tie.

The defending champion has played in Sunday night game in five of the last six years.

Ok guys I didn't like at this perspective of Jorge Posada.

U are right about him being that enforcer, sometimes teams need that just like the old Knicks had when Oakley, X-Man and Anthony Mason were playing for them. U need that toughness and grittiness when the tough get going. U need that someone that will fuck someone up in your lineup.
