Dude, I'm a member of a Black Greek Letter Organization (Obviously I'm not a Nupe) And, I understand the cause and motive of the music. but, truth be told and I did Cross the hard way but, that is irrelevant.
Fraternities and Sororities are a Coporation; (A Bonafide Business), and as an Attorney or from a legal prospective; I can tell you that they are not putting up with this you beat my ass mentality in-order to prove a point and call me brother or sister. The resolve of this gore & battery results in a lawsuit(s). Nowadays, if you are charged with hazing, more than likely you will be expelled and your affiliation with the organization will be as such, that you never existed in the first place. If your grief with the organization is legitimate, I'm certain that there is a protocol that has to be followed. Obviously, if a charter or chapter has been removed, they were probably fined. I can almost bet that this is where the whole issue stems. Not making a mockery of any organizaton, I have love for all in the Devine Nine. I have really close friends who are active members in each.
but, there comes a point in time where you have to realize that there is life after Undergrad. And, if you are an active member, you will soon learn that what matters to Corporate is you paying your dues in a timely fashion, being an active member in the community, and a dignified role model and example of humility in light of your accomplishments: So, that these young men and women (Neophytes) that follow you have someone that they can turn to when in need.
If you graduated, why the hell are you eseentially living at the campus and parading around with the younger bruhs; almost trying to proove a point.
For example, my youngest brother just joined. I'm certainly not going to go to every function they have. I will participate with them in a joint function but, although together we are separate; you understand. Our roles are on different levels.
They need mature brothers and sisters giving important information for these young college kids like: STAY AWAY from these credit card issuers on the campus parading around like they are giving away credit cards when in essence, they are trying to destroy your credit and not really give a damn because, these kids are so young and most dont have jobs if they are holding down a full load of classes. BE SMART!
