That's right. #20, Barry Sanders. When Bo Jackson wants to be as good as you, then you know you're doing something right.

he was that dude, the lions shoulda let him go after all the hard work he gave them, i mean no offensive line and he still got it done, they forced him to retire :smh:

The fucking Detroit Lions. They're currently burning in NFL hell for what they did to Barry.

And if Jim Brown had played 16 games per season like Barry did instead of the 12 he played for half his career, he would probably still be the all time leader in yardage, touchdowns AND yards per carry

Barry might've been more "elusive", but Brown was just better

Barry Sanders was the greatest running back to ever touch a football. Jim Brown was also a great running back but cannot be compared to Barry Sanders.

Different era. Brown was, by all accounts, a great runner. But he was like a man playing against boys. Hell, he was almost as big as the D-linemen of his time. Brown was a bruiser.

Barry was an assassin.

As much as I admired Barry Sanders as a pure running back, a function of a great all around running back is catching the football and blocking, like Marshall Faulk, Roger Craig, L.T2, catching the football is part of the game but of course the greatest is Sweetness

Sweetness was a great running back, and a great man but you cannot compare him to a Barry Sanders when not one NFL defender could put a hit on him in his whole career. Barry Sanders did shit on the football field we have never seen a man do before or since. The only one to come close was Gale Sayers.

Best Runner the game has ever seen.

If Barry had played for the 49ers, Cowboys, Packers, Bills, Broncos, Dolphins...

I shudder to think the type of yards and championships he would have gotten.

But, as sorry as the Lions are, at least Detroit got a treat for once.

Too bad for Barry, but great for Detroit.
