tech heads:how many processes do i need to have my comp running?

i hit ctrl atl del when my firefox was freezing and i see all this shit that running in my comp. i know i dont need this shit. is their a way to manage this so my computer moves faster. i only want the essentials ( i dont know what most of this shit is so i dont want to close it)to be running and if i choose to start a program...

learn to use this and it will tune up your computer. It will also let you turn off processes that don't need to be running on your computer.
