Systems Engineer

Job Description

Provide administrative support for an enterprise storage environment that includes, but is not limited to: enterprise storage arrays, synchronous/asynchronous data replication, fiber channel switches, Network Attached Storage (NAS), physical and virtual tape devices, as well as Backup, Restore, & Archive (BURA) software.
Responsibilities:
1) Install and configure storage hardware and software consistent with established standards and best practices.
2) Adhere to, modify, or develop standards and procedures governing the installation, configuration and operation of storage devices.
3) Work independently and with team members and vendors to troubleshoot issues.
4) Follow established procedures in the creation of detailed Change Management documentation.
5) Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) BS/BA degree.
2) Experience with storage infrastructure and technologies (e.g. storage arrays and switches/directors).
3) Experience with enterprise backup infrastructures and technologies (e.g. tape drives, tape libraries, and backup software).
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
1) Industry storage certifications
2) ITIL Certification
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a normal office environment with occasional physical lifting (50 lbs). After-hours and weekend work required.
