Suzanne Somers, “Three's Company” Actress, Dead at 76

what were the ratings after she left?

Season 5 is the last time we see Suzanne Somers play Chrissy Snow, she appears "fully" in episodes 1 and 3, and after that she spends the rest of Season 5 in a "cameo" role until her final appearance in Season 5, Episode 17 "And Baby Makes Four".

In season 5 (1980-81), Three's Company's ratings had fallen from 26.3 in Season 4 to 22.4 in Season 5 and its ranking fell from 2nd to 8th.

In Season 6 (1981-82), Three's Company had a rating of 23.3 and it ranked 4th

In Season 7 it had a rating of 21.2 and ranked 6th

In Season 8 it had a rating of 16.8 and dropped to 33rd.
TLDR:
Three's Company slumped in Season 5 and recovered in Seasons 6 and 7 before free-falling in Season 8.

She was the ultimate it girl, blonde bombshell in her day. She didn't rest on that though. She spun off that image in to various career opportunities. Threes Company still remains as one of my top 20 sitcoms of all time. RIP LOVELY LADY

Her illness was kept on the low...RIP

It wasn't kept low, I remember hearing about it around July. It's more that it became routine. She mentioned then that it came back every couple of years and she was used to dealing with it. I'm guessing this time it wasn't the same cancer.

so her leaving the show clearly had a impact

It did but the show was still a hit for two more seasons before it dropped off in ratings and rank and most Three's Company fans attribute the fading popularity of the show to the changing times, it was 1984, and the premise wasn't as boundary-pushing as it was in 1977 when the show debuted and jiggle tv was falling out of fashion (although it would re-emerge in a way with shows like Baywatch in the 1990s)

There were no TV Guide covers with Cindy but John Ritter and Joyce Dewitt appeared on more with Priscilla Barnes than they did with Suzanne Somers.

all u can come with is tv guide? of course the terri era was on more covers, the show was sinking, i read those articles back in the day, thy punish suzanne because she knew her wealth and knows how to get a bag

Rip... Was a bit young to remember 3s company. But I remember her from Step-by-Step.

Forgot that John Ritter passed awhile ago. I watched that movie "Stay Tuned" where he was trapped in the TV on repeat as a kid.

Three's Company ranks as one of my all-time favorite shows, while I'm certainly much more of a fan of Janet (Joyce DeWitt) than her in the looks department she was absolutely HILARIOUS as Chrissy Snow and she would have me laughing just as much as John Ritter.

I also remember her on Step by Step in the 1990s a show that I absolutely enjoyed in that legendary TGIF comedy block.

R.I.P. to Suzanne and thank you for the entertainment.
