Survivor's Remorse season 3

Good shit. I just started binge watching that this week. Just got to Season 2 today.

All the sistas they've had on the show could get the shit fucked outta them.
I started binge watching this week too and got addicted quick. Cam's sister's ass needs to make another cameo

just binged watched the first two seasons...I like it tho it is in the vein of Entourage and has many similarities.

Cameron Calloway is Vince Chase - the reason for everyones success who seems to be annoyingly temperamental when the script requires it. And both actors don't really fit the positions the characters are suppose to have...Vincent Chase was billed as his generations James Dean/Marlon Brando this incredibly naturally talented actor but actor Adrian Grenier couldn't even fake being that good. Same thing with Jesse T Usher as Cam Calloway. A athlete who seems to be Allan Iverson/Steph Curry like but Jesse doesn't come off as athletic in the least.

And just like for Entourage, in SR the lead character is the LEAST interesting person in the show.

Reggie Vaughn - Reggie has the position Eric "E" Murphy had in Entourage. The best friend/relative turned manager. Someone who isn't trained, formally educated or qualified to do that but the trust factor is high and thats what counts most. Reggie actually has two positions that of E and Ari in his fast walking and talking quick wit and zingers.

Mary Charles "M-Chuck" Calloway - has the Drama position but in this case shes the embodiment of drama the word. Her aggressive lesbianism and sense of entitlement is actually annoying to me. Although she recounts how much a defender she was to Cam in their youth her demanding ways on his money is still an irritating overstep. The ONLY reason I tolerate the character is because Erica Ash has a great body and she's pulls off the character well.

Missy Vaughn - Reggie's wife is educated and trained to be a manager but prefers to play the advisor role for her husband. Being born upper middle class shes an outsider to the groups ghetto raised background but since their shift in tax bracket she's now their guide to how the upperclass lives and behaves.

Julius Calloway - Uncle Jules has no real role and is content just to hang around taking potshots whenever someone shows out. He also shows real common sense insight when he has to. He was the closest to having Turtle's position as driver/weed connect/facilitator.
At least for the first 2 seasons..they killed of the character after Mike Epps said he asked for more money. But killing him off was a mistake because he had real chemistry with the group

Cassie Calloway - No real corresponding Entourage character here..Cassie is just a bit of a loose cannon/bull in a gated community china shop. We see where Cam gets his hard-headedness from. Tichina Arnold seems most at home with the foul mouthed full of attitude Cassie and totally makes her believable.

I like the show and it works but if there is any weak spots in it one is you never actually see Cam play basketball or even practice. He's on a team in Atlanta but its only assumed its an NBA league team I don't think theyve even mentioned the teams name. They do have some realistic endorsement stand ins like Nike and Under Armour but Cams signs with an unknown chinese apparel company. With shows like these the real big draw is the inside baseball look at how these industries work. In Entourage you got to see how the sausage gets made with the wheeling and dealing Ari did with the studios. In SR because theyre so vague with the sports team and league we don't really get to see the nitty gritty of how they have to work out deals and contracts. So we just get an overview of its a pro team and big money is at stake and thats it. If they continue with that it will be to the detriment of the show IMO.

M-Chuck was given the position of PR on Cams team but so far hasn't actually done any PRing as Reggie is to busy sticking fingers in the dike (yeah I know) to stem leaks and keep the thing from coming apart to allow her to do her job. How they work together and the conflicts from it will be interesting IF they go in that direction in season 3.

Kinda glad Uncle Buck got cancelled. Maybe we may get Mike Epps back.

Anyone else notice the lack of azz and titties in Season 2?

This show is the CORNIEST shit on Starz.
The only thing keep this shit alive is the backing of LBJ
This has NOTHING to do with basketball
I never seen this lil, non-athletic muffucka dribble a ball not once
this whole show is corny
this could have been on regular tv

they would have probably done better getting a real ball player someone from a CBA or something like that..

Shows not even about basketball man, it's making and regret.
Then what I hate about these ALL BLACK shows...
once an all black show/cast gets a lil clout
IT NEVER FAILS
They put a CAC in there
but those all white shows, they don't need any black people in there for anything
but we HAVE to put them in
SMH

This show is garbage... The first two episodes of season 1 was good after that it was all downhill

I'm wondering was there a scheduling conflict between this and Uncle Buck that prevented Mike from doing both or did he just piss the network off somehow. Now he's out of a job on both ends and the Uncle Buck shit was a much higher risk. ABC ain't even try to make that shit work, they burned through an 8 episode order in 4 weeks.

He said he asked for more money, and they decided to write him off.

Epps screwed up, he's a ensemble actor/comedian who is not that funny or good to hold up PG rated TV series, Uncle Buck character suck but the same character he played in Survivors Remorse he was funny.

agreed, was just discussing this, he is good as another add-on character on stuff like shows or movies, but to hold his own down, like a Bernie Mac having his own show, Mike just can't do it. His stand up is even mediocre. Was a dumb move to leave this show for Uncle Buck if that's what he did. Saw the episode last night and couldn't believe he died. Dumb move...

Yeah, unless it's a scifi show, when they kill you off there's no coming back. Epps keep burning them bridges.
