SUPERNATURAL Creator Eric Kripke Now Developing DC Comics’ DEADMAN For The CW!!
I am too lazy to look at all the DC Comics properties we’ve seen developed at the WB/CW to replace "Smallville." I remember "Birds of Prey," the story of the daughters of Batman and Commissioner Gordon. I remember “Mercy Reef,” the tale of Aquaman when he was a boy. I remember “The Greysons,” the story of the Boy Wonder when he was a younger boy. I remember “Sandman,” the tale of the Lord of Dreams. He may have been a boy. Or a bartender. I know not.
Now Kripke, the “Supernatural” mastermind behind the failed “Sandman” project, is knocking together a pilot script for “Deadman,” DC’s ongoing tale of deceased acrobat Boston Brand, who uses the bodies of others to solve crime.
I loved the character of Deadman when Alan Moore wrote him in an important issue of “Swamp Thing.” Do we want Eric Kripke to reanimate him? I leave that to the folks who still watch The CW.
“Supernatural” begins its 7th season on the CW this autumn. Despite what Deadline says about “Supernatural” being the CW’s longest-running series, “One Tree Hill” begins its 9th season at midseason.
