Another problem that Subway has, aside from awful food, is that the margins must be razor thin for the franchisee's because it's probably the only franchise I've ever seen that won't honor it's own promotions. Whenever I get Subway coupons in the mail they go directly in the trash because I know none of the local stores will honor them. It's like a bait and switch, get you in the store with a coupon only to find out it's not accepted.

I can't fuck with Jimmy Johns simply because I have to remind these fools every time to cut the sandwich in half. Jersey Mike's has never let me down. And I'll fuck some WaWa up too from time to time.

We had a Subway & Starbucks on campus that wouldn't even accept their own GIFT CARDS! Turns out, they were both being run by Aramark, which didn't accept the coupons or gift cards. You had parents giving their kids gift cards for Subway, and not knowing that they weren't being accepted. And to make it worse, they had no signage letting you know that. You'd have the sandwich made, get to the register, and they'd say, "We don't take those."
