I’m bouncing between threads here but it’s likely this kid was Salvadorean. We don’t have many Mexicans in the DMV.
So there's Lations in Fairmont Heights like that? Never knew. I thought they were mostly Adelphi, Hyattsville, Takoma Park based.

They usually are. Idk the exact demographics and I’m willing to bet it’s still overwhelmingly majority black but Hispanics have grown exponentially in numbers all over the DMV. Like rice, they’re everywhere. So there's Lations in Fairmont Heights like that? Never knew. I thought they were mostly Adelphi, Hyattsville, Takoma Park based.
Understood.
I think the anonymity of the ghost gun is what’s dangerous. Many of these are polymer based rifles, and the 3D printing makes them very easy to evade authorities and metal detectors. Even the most basic of people could sneak in one part per day into a facility, keep them hidden, and assemble on whichever day they choose.
Could you imagine what a disgruntled and vengeful flight attendant could do with one of these? Especially if there were a locked storage cabin for stewards somewhere?
I think it’s the stealth of the guns make them irresistible.
And in Texas you don't have to register a gun anyway....and private sales don't have to be reported...so I can go to a gunshow in downtown houston and pick up AK's, AR's and Glocks and NOTHING exist that connects those guns to me....so the whole trace thing is irrelevant.Traceability is all that ghost guns avoid. And that's only done after the fact, when a crime has been committed involving a firearm. The very people that want to trace guns, police and law enforcement, are in bed with the coalition that prevents automated gun traceability databases. If I understand correctly most mass shootings don't involve ghost guns. When someone wants to kill a lot of people quickly, they opt for a professionally engineered, machined and assembled unit with tight tolerances and high reliability. They don't want to take any chances when they may only get a few seconds to take down a dozen people.
Absolutely. There are def pieces that are metallic and would set detectors off. From what I’ve seen folks say about em is that the polymer pieces only make it easier to smuggle into spaces that prohibit firearms, but it’s not entirely trace proof.Let me clear up a common misconception....yes parts of the gun are polymer based, but the barrel, chamber and receiver are steal.....on all of them. I remember when Glocks first became a thing and people were talking about plastic guns and metal detectors...LOL...I have a safe full of Glocks and I promise you that if I ever tried to pass a metal detector with one it would sing like Aretha Franklin.
Yup EVERYWHERE!!! Honestly ever major city on the East Coast between the DMV and the Carolinas, they are growing by leaps and bound...I was in Charlotte like 2 years ago and was like DAMN lil mexico cities were everywhere. Even in my hometown of Columbia, SC they have their own section of the city....They usually are. Idk the exact demographics and I’m willing to bet it’s still overwhelmingly majority black but Hispanics have grown exponentially in numbers all over the DMV. Like rice, they’re everywhere.
Yessir. This is a HUUGGEE part of why these white folks are running scared now. They’re being replaced and are showing their asses now.Yup EVERYWHERE!!! Most likely the reason this kid had the gun disassembled in his backpack to begin with.
Criminals don't follow the rules. These ghost guns are continuing to be a problem because criminals don't give a fuck about the rules or licensesI suspect this was some gangster shit as opposed to potential mass shooter...glad they got him either way and shit must have been terrifying for the other students and school staff
Ghost guns are a problem

We live in a fear mongering Country and there are more guns per capita then there are people. There is nothing we can do because the motherfuker from Texas last week waited till he turned 18 and was legal, bought guns and then killed people
He was legal, legally bought guns and then proceeded to use them to kill people. We are fucked as a country
We can start by banning assault rifles .. and that’s not just an opinion, but the facts and history in these United States. prove it works.
- Several studies find that mass shooting deaths fell slightly in the decade of the federal assault weapon ban, and then rose dramatically in the decade that followed.
- New research suggests that limits on large-capacity magazines play a key role.
- No strong evidence shows that the ban’s presence or its end caused the change in mass shooting deaths, but many studies find a correlation
I would love to see a ban on assault rifles. They're not needed outside of the military. Problem is Republican politicians are bought and paid for buy gun rights activist. I don't know who the fuck Buys in Pays for democrats, but they are bought and paid for too just by different groupsWe can start by banning assault rifles .. and that’s not just an opinion, but the facts and history in these United States. prove it works.

I used to think that until I realized kids today don't realize the real consequences until they're either dead or looking at over 20.
Prison isn't a deterrent.
