What are you using for storage and what are you using to back up your storage?
I lost a hard drive & bounced back like a mufukka. I Have an 18 tb hd & I divided it up into 2 drives . I filled up 10 tb's downloading movies, cartoons, & tv shows on the board. The 4k movies take up a tremendous amount of space. I got 1 movie that is 13gb"s (the town extended version). I had to move the 4k movies to the other side of the hd. The music sits on a 12 tb hd its about 60% full.
I know Im gonna need a new hd by january / febuary.

Any suggestions for backing up the harddrive(s)? Im looking at purchasing a external dvd burner & bluray disc to store the backups. I cant suffer another hd crash.

Sounds like you're splitting an internal drive that's 18gb to be your C and D drives?

I'd get an internal NVMe drive to run Windows. I have a 4TB WD sn850x. All that I need is put on my "D" drive that is split like 500gb for C and the balance for the D where I keep important files. Anything ever crashes with Windows and can just reinstall that C partition, wiping it out. D data will still be there as long as the drive doesn't fail and quality NVMe' don't fail as ofter as a spinning old SATA drive.

I'd get an NVMe internal and get two external SATA type drives. Just back up to both externals for redundancy. They are about $200 each and get an external case and put them in yourself. Cheaper.

I prefer NVMe drives all around, from reliable manufacturers like WD Black sn850x or Samsung 990. An 8tb can run you like $500.

You can buy cheaper no name NVMe, but that's if you want to gamble with your data. I wouldn't.

Yeah, but you can lose everything that you downloaded when it crashes and stop working.
Well, that's with any form of electronic storage that's not on hard-media. I used to have one of those tall spindle DVD holders' that held 500+ pieces. After 100 pieces, shuffling, finding, and protecting your stuff from being "borrowed" becomes a pain in the ass. I burnt all my DVD's to files and it has been absolute heaven ever since, and I've yet to lose anything!!!
