Stephen King Slams ‘Transformers,’ Says It’s the Only Movie He Walked Out of as an Adult

Stephen King is one of the most celebrated horror authors of all time, and many of his books have been turned into classic films. From “Stand By Me” and “The Shawshank Redemption” to “Carrie” and “Misery,” King has been an almost constant presence at the multiplex since he began publishing books in the 1970s.

King is also unafraid to share his strong opinions about movies, famously distancing himself from Stanley Kubrick’s beloved adaptation of his novel “The Shining” for years. His Twitter account has long been a hotbed of the author’s pop culture takes, and this week, he turned his attention to one of Hollywood’s most polarizing franchises: Michael Bay’s “Transformers” movies.

“I have walked out of only one movie as an adult: ‘Transformers.'” King tweeted. And in case there was any doubt about which “Transformers” flick he was referring to, the author later specified “Michael Bay. The first one.”

I see his point. The movies could have been a lot better if this clown wasn't in them:

This is a completely uncontroversial opinion. The first was alright but it wasn't anything special and I can see someone not liking it.

That said, these recent movies based his books, like It, Dark Tower, and Pet Semetary, have been so-so too.

I remember I almost walked out on the first Shaft movie with Samuel L. Jackson, but I couldn't because I was with friends. So, instead I fell asleep.

Michael Bay is back, baby!

Need to make the movies less chaotic and get rid of the over the top acting and clowning nonsense and make a cool, action-packed movie with a great story and more solid characters. Get rid of the snot nosed confused kid thing.

Bay should just switch up and make GI Joe instead(like he originally intended to)

Truthfully Hasbro would be better off with a Disney/Marvel or Amazon company that understands the history, audience and IP...

Paramount don't even stream the Cartoon back catalog...

Disney would have brought the rights and had the cartoons upscaled and streaming on Disney+ with Films and Animation ready to go on 20th Century Studios like Predators / Prey and Aliens...
