“We will always remember the evening of June 19, 2016 as the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by LeBron James, ended the 52-year drought delivering the long elusive championship that many thought they would never see... A championship that united generations of Clevelanders, both living and passed.

Virtually anyone with roots in Northeast Ohio paused and felt the memories of the past and the utter joy that the burden of the so-called ‘curse’ was finally a thing of the past. Cleveland, Ohio was the home of a championship team for the first time since 1964. Words do not express the meaning and the feeling this accomplishment brought to the people of Northeast Ohio.

None of this would have happened if LeBron James did not agree to come back home and lead the Cavaliers to the promised land. The entire Cavaliers franchise thanks LeBron for that precious moment and for all of the excitement he delivered as he led our team to four straight NBA Finals appearances.

LeBron is a family man, first. We wish his kids, his wife Savannah, his mother Gloria, and LeBron himself nothing but the best in the years and decades ahead. LeBron’s connection to Akron, Cleveland and all of Northeast Ohio will most certainly endure as his commitment to the region and his support of many important causes has been impactful to so many kids and families.

LeBron, you came home and delivered the ultimate goal. Nothing but appreciation and gratitude for everything you put into every moment you spent in a Cavaliers uniform. We look forward to the retirement of the famous #23 Cavs jersey one day down the line...”

Dan Gilbert
Chairman
Cleveland Cavaliers

Well Cleveland's guiding star is Russell Westbrook, PG, and Mello all chose to stay in OKC, and Oklahoma cant be any worst than Cleveland Dan needs to have a fire sell nothing but 1st round picks in return might get lucky

Cavs even without LeBron should be able to still make a run in the East. I’m sure Collin Sexton is gonna have a chip on his shoulder to want to show LeBron what he is missing not playing with by stepping his game up.

Philly should package Covington/Dario and a future 1st to Spurs for Kawhi
Send Bayless/Fultz and their future first for Kevin Love. Sign J.J. Redick with remaining Cap and MLE around 12 Million.

Not true. They should be a top 5 team in the East.

The East is very weak and the Cavs are still one of the better teams in that conference.

I highly doubt that. For the 2018-2019 season I got Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Indiana, Atlanta, Milwaukee and Washington all in. So that leaves them on the outside looking in.

Even the eastern conference playoff fringe or on the bubble teams, NY knicks, Chicago and Detroit I have them ahead of the Cavs. The cavs are a lottery team now.

Yours Truly......Professor

Love has one year left on his contract. There's a lot of teams that will be willing to add him as a rental with his contract coming off at the end of the year. They have expiring contracts coming up also. Doubt anyone wants to play in Cleveland. Gilbert should have sold the team before Bron left.

shouldn't have gotten rid kyrie but props to him for taking the high ground 4 years later.

Atlanta is going to be a lottery team. And even though I wish my Raptors would be 1st in the East, it's no way we are going to be 1st over the Celtics.

I think LeBron was leaving anyway. I'm sure he told Gilbert that when they met about him coming back to Cleveland. It's no surprise this time he was leaving.

4 Milwaukee
5 Toronto
6 Miami

Way more humble this time. Last time he sounded like a slave master and that he lost his slave. Guess that title softened the blow this time.

they play no defense...and Lebron accounted for like 75% of their offense...

and even Lebron couldn't recruit any big name free agents to come play with him in Cleveland...

I got a feeling they can step up now since LeBron is gone. They wanna prove they can still do well without him. Plus everybody can go back into their orginal roles and not be forced to play a certain style when they had LeBron.

I wish I could leave the U.S., it is getting nuts down here if you read my State of the Union thread.

If it was me leaving, the State of Ohio would have threatened California with tariffs and military action prior to my arrival. I would try to conceal my final destination, so they would threaten every state in the U.S., imposing global tariffs everywhere. In the State of Ohio, they would have begun political assassinations, mass shootings at newspapers, mass shootings at churches, killing police, and other organized terrorist activity that would not be investigated. My funds would disappear or be frozen, leaving me little options.

After being stuck in Ohio, a campaign of harassment would begin with cars, TV, covert surveillance, and other means. I would plead with my captors in Ohio to release me, and they would refuse. They would invent reasons to keep me captive in Ohio with little funds.

This level of insanity and delusional thinking would appear normal to them, while you go in and out of shock. You believe they are suffering from a psychotic break from reality.
