starting your own magazine?

Hello peoples, i have came out of lurking for your knowledge.

Am think about starting my own print magazine, i have plans of what my magazine is gonna look like is subject, audiences and how am gonna market it. But i need help in the business and finance department.

How do i get investors to back me up to put this idea into a magazine? does the state or federal give out grants for first time business owners?

this website made it clear. but am lookin for how to get investors, finances, and grants cuz frankly am too broke.

Mannnnnnnnn. This is going to be a hard venture for you. You automaticly take a lost in the first and 2nd year. It will be hard to get advertisers starting out. It will be hard to get advertisers to advertise for free in your magazine. I say do it smartly by starting a blog and creating interest then consider creating a magazine.

i feel ya man........i want too do the same i got all tha knowledge and know how..... but money is tight....but call some companies and see how they get some funding.....for there magazine......you can always take out a loan as well........if u got tha edu u should apply for interns at magazines and such......on tha real i got offered a intern at vogue magazine for summer of 2007......but i got my degree in fashion design and AD in graphic design ....so if u got something too stand on......u can break threw and findout alot......look for jobs in publications first learn lear learn.....dont try too take it head on trust......aint nobody gone put money on water.......good luck man...........

no doubt am get this thing jump off the ground, my February i hope, good looking on that tip, that what i been doing i manage to get some donating pledges from some joints.


chase bannon= yeah man am take some Ls for few starting years, even though my magazine is gonna be nonprofit. am just doing this to know how it is fail a business,

like getting a test experience on the real business venture u want to do in the future.
