This is the wrong approach for immigrants. The best approach is for immigrants to come here legally, than the government providing them assistance to transition into the economy while not working. This sends demand signals to producers with higher prices. A job is created to account for their presence in the country. If they just show up and start working, they are displacing an American who will sit at home on unemployment. Essentially becoming the immigrant who is getting assistance through unemployment.
