Avery brooks was and is the fucking man. I met him when I was a kid when he was a professor at Rutgers. Very deep brother. I think he was on star trek for a hot second after A man called hawk.

He was the captain on "Star Trek-Deep Space Nine" until the show ended in '99. I think he does theater work since thats normally where actors go when you havent seen them in a while.

Aw yeah! We all used to watch the show to see Hawk get Spencer out of some bullshit he couldn't handle! Brooks was really the star of that show.
