"Speed Dating", need some Feedback.

Ladies, I am working on some ideas for a promotion and wanted some feedback.

Have you or your friends tried "Speed Dating"? What was your experience? Can you recommend/name a few sites or organizations?

I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance.

(I am not trying to duplicate the thread currently out there about Online Dating - I am specifically focusing on Speed Dating)

Basically, the room has several table at which various ladies are sitting. Men have a certain amount of time at each table, as they conduct a "round robin" of the event. If people hit it off, they can disengage from the event and continue their date on their own elsewhere.

You really only have about 10 minutes with your prospective "date", so you convo skills have to be on point. I'm not talking from experience as I not tried this thing, dear.

I did it a few years ago when it first started. Here's what I remember about it: The one I went to had a lot of people, I think the more people the better. They give you a little card, you sit down with a person and start a conversation. When the time is up, you make a descision, whether you want contact with the person or not. Then you go on to the next person. With some people, the time can go by quick. Once you loosen up and have fun with it, it's not so bad. But if you're talking to a weirdo eight minutes seem like an eternity. A couple of days later they email you a list of people who you mutually match with.

It was cool, I ended up going on a few dates. I wouldn't do it again though. It's pretty much the same thing as meeting someone in a bar or on the street.

Sounds like a good way to hook up for a one night stand, ha!, or just a quick date, when my man is not treating me right. I would be down to attend, just because trust and believe, I like to have fun...!!!
