80s R&B singer Chico DeBarge has been arrested for drug possession.
The Talk To Me crooner was found with methamphetamine when he was picked up in Burbank, California earlier this month, according to TMZ.
DeBarge, 53, was first approached by authorities after being seen using a piece of wire to try and open an SUV parked in a Walmart parking lot.
His behavior prompted police to approach and search DeBarge, who was found to have meth on him.
The vehicle turned out to be his own, but he was attempting to find a way in after locking the keys inside.
Upon searching his vehicle, authorities also found drug paraphernalia.
He was booked at Burbank City jail and later released. Formal charges are pending.
DeBarge rose to fame for his 1986 hit single Talk To Me.
But his career was put on hold when he was sent to prison for drug trafficking in the late 80s.
In 2007, DeBarge was arrested for drug possession in California and later went to rehab.
He has been open about his struggle with substance abuse, titling his 2009 album Addiction.
