Snoop Dogg Partners With adidas For Money Cleat
Snoop Dogg furthers his personal brand with his latest collaboration with adidas, a pair of cleats inspired by money. The Long Beach, California rapper serves as adidas' director of football development.

The shoes that Snoop Dogg helped design are part of adidas' adizero 5-Star series and feature a gold sole with a dark green tongue, laces and the company's signature three stripes. On the toe of each shoe is a gold clip where the right shoe says "Gotta" and the left says "Hustle." The sides of each shoe feature graphics of $100 bills and the text, "Money On My Mind" and "Mind On My Money," which the Long Beach, California rapper says on his "Gin and Juice" song from his 1993 debut album, Doggystyle.

The cleats are available for $120 at the adidas online store.

adidas sponsored Snoop Dogg's Turf'd Uptalk show that led up to Super Bowl 50.

Can Anyone Explain These Snoop Dogg-Branded Adidas Cleats?

"My mind on my money and my money on my mind," Snoop Dogg famously rapped on 1993's "Gin and Juice." It's sound financial advice for anyone paying attention to his or her budget. But this advice isn't necessarily something you'd want to follow when the situation demands the mental focus of, say, competing in a football game. Your mind, rather, should be on the game and the game should be on your mind—which is what makes Adidas' new collaborative cleat with Snoop Dogg so baffling.

The new Adidas Adizero 5-Star 5.0 x Kevlar Snoop cleats pay tribute to what's probably the most famous line off Snoop Dogg's breakthrough album "Doggy Style." And aesthetically, the shoes are beautiful: complete with gold spikes and a $100-bill pattern on the body. But why Snoop Dogg? Sure, he's a noted football fan, but so are Jay Z and Lil Wayne and Ice Cube. And wouldn't Snoop's lung capacity be pretty horrible after the millions of blunts he's smoked? Did you know this is his second pair of Adidas cleats? The first ones didn't make a whole lot of sense, either. They came out during the rapper's brief stint as Snoop Lion, and featured a lion.

Sure, it was slightly more thematically coherent, considering a lion can in symbolize ferocity and strength. But football cleats decorated with images of money? Why? You could argue that professional athletes make money by playing sports. While honest, that's probably not the greatest association, especially since you don't make money playing football unless you're among the tiny percentage of people on this planet who play in the NFL. Seems suspect.

But, anyway, here it is, against all logic: The Adizero 5-star 5.0 Snoop Cleats exist and they cost $120. Laid back.

Snoop Dogg Partners with Adidas to Design Money-Inspired Football Cleats | Bleacher Report
As he proclaimed in his '90s anthem "Gin and Juice," Snoop Dogg puts a premium on prioritizing his dough.

Now, "mind on my money" and "money on my mind" will serve as reminders to aspiring ballers who can find the famous phrases emblazoned on their feet.

In his latest design with Adidas, Snoop Dogg has created a pair of cash-inspired Adizero 5-Star 5.0 football cleats, and they're everything you'd expect—plastered with Benjamins and dripping in gold paint.

But nothing in life comes for free, including the flashy cleats, which sell for $120.

That's why, front and center, locked down by the laces, are the words "Gotta Hustle."

Fortunately, hustling on the field should come easily, since the shoe is as lightweight as possible—7.9 ounces (or about $22,400 in $100 bills) to be exact.

Potential consumers be cautioned, however. These cleats speak volumes, and they're talking smack.

Are you ready to back it up?
