Did u grow up in LA in the 80's & if so what was it like between blacks/mexicans from your POV?
yep.
and in the 80s the black/brown beef wasnt as bad as it has been in the past 10 years.
usually the blacks and eses were cool.
i had a lot of mexican potnas.
it was more black on black crime that was the problem.
in the early 90s is when the race wars really started.
moreso bcuz thats when the hispanic popualation really started getting out of hand.
Since California was once Mexican territory, they were fighting for what they felt was theirs.
all they mexican potnas i grew up with turned on me,
and evenually became my enemies.
one dude i was real close with growing up became a pretty big carnal (like an ese OG) in the Mexican Mafia.
the last time i saw him he acted like he didnt even know me.
alot of my homies who here killed by gang violence werent even gang related. 2 of them had full ride football scholorships to D1 schools. they were caught at the wrong place at the wrong time.
and in LA thats anywhere and everywhere.
growing up as a young black kid in LA was cool, but it was a horrible way to grow up.
we used to say 'always kiss your mama b4 u leave the house. cuz if u get smoked, at least u had a chance to say goodbye'.
