Legend of the Bat 1978
a.k.a.: Clans of Intrigue 2
a.k.a.:Bat Island Adventure

Legend of the Bat is director Chor Yuen's sequel to Clans of Intrigue. Ti Lung returns in the same role of righteous swordsman Chu Liu-hsiang
while Ling Yun also returns as the sword-for-hire Yi Tien-hung. In their previous adventure this pair of heroes seemed destined to fight to the
death until they joined forces. This time Liu-hsiang is targeted by leading swordsmen in the boxer's world. It seems that a shady merchant on
Bat Island selling a rare and much needed medicine has demanded Liu-hsiang's head as payment. Desperate to cure his wife, swordsman Li
Yuhan (Yuen Hua) attempts to kill Liu-hsiang, but fails. When a perplexed Liu-hsiang learns of the reason for this otherwise unwarranted attack,
he vows to leave for Bat Island himself in order to retrieve the medicine. He hops on boat and eventually transfers to a larger, ornate boat
where he hooks up with a few heroes also on board including his old pal Tien-hung, a female named Jin Linzhi (Candy Yu) and her mute protector
(Yuen Wah), and a famous royal soldier named Gou Zicheng (Wong Chung) who doesn't reveal his true identity initially, but eventually declares
his mission to capture Mr. Bat, villain hiding on Bat Island.

A murder mystery in the vein of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express begins as passengers one by one, turn up dead. The likeliest
suspect is the host Xiang Feitian (Norman Chu), but someone else who has rigged the boat to explode is actually behind the deaths. Our
heroes escape the burning boat by hitching rides on floating coffins where they are picked up by yet another boat. This one makes its way
to Bat Island, but our heroes are subdued with gas and thrown in a cage made of indestructible 'black iron.' Luckily, Zicheng just happens
to have a nifty little magic knife designed to cut iron like butter. They escape and release a bunch of prisoners held on the island including
Linzhi's father. Linzhi's father stays in order to lead them to the Bat Hall where Liu-hsiang can buy his medicine and Zicheng can capture
Mr. Bat. The dangerous underground passages prove fatal to several members of the party, but the survivors reach Bat Hall to face the
mysterious Mr. Bat.

The Brave Archer 1977
AKA: Kung Fu Warlord; Shaolin Archers

The Brave Archer is the first in a four-part series that was based upon Jin Yong's wuxia novel, The Eagle Shooting Heroes.
It has been the basis for several films including Ashes of Time (1994).

This bewildering adaptation begins as two Sung patriots and best friends meet a famous Chu Chien priest and fellow patriot who
killed and beheaded a traitor. They bury the head by dropping it on the ground in front of their house and throwing a small pile
of dirt over it. This error in judgment proves fatal for one of the friends who ends up dead after a group of Chin officials and their
guards come looking for the man who killed the traitor and notice the odd pile of dirt. Take that as a lesson! The other man escapes
and eventually raises a foster daughter. Meanwhile, the friends' two sons are saved by a group of Sung patriots led by Lu Feng. They
agree to raise one of the boys, eventually played by Fu Sheng while the Chu Chien priest returns to raise the other. In eighteen years
they intend to have the boys fight in order to see which styles of kung are better. Eighteen years later, Fu Sheng's kung fu has suffered
as a result of having too many masters while the other child has excelled. Yet that other child eventually joins his mother who had been
taken by the Chins and becomes a traitor himself. Fu Sheng then begins a odyssey of sorts. He meets a beggar who turns out to be a
beautiful and wealthy young girl in disguise. The two fall in love and Fu Sheng will eventually have to compete in a contest for her hand
in marriage. In the meantime, he learns martial arts from several masters including an unbelievable style called the 18 Palm technique
from The Nine-Fingered Beggar that allows a person to rip apart large tree trunks with a single blow. Later, Fu Sheng memories an
infamous martial arts manual from Phillip Kwok who plays a comical master in a ridiculous gray wig. The knowledge of this manual comes
in handy when it turns out to be the final test in order for Fu Sheng to marry the girl.

Heroes of the East 1978

AKA: Shaolin Challenges Ninja
AKA: Challenge of the Ninja
AKA: Shaolin vs. Ninja

The story hinges on the proud, but good-natured Ah To (Gordon Liu Chia-Hui), a young Chinese man stuck in an
arranged marriage with a Japanese girl named Kuda (Yuko Mizuno). During the wedding, Kuda sticks to her own
rituals and ignores the customs of the Chinese, a move that incurs the general ill will of those in attendance.
But just when you think the story is going to be about a nice Japanese girl suffering at the hands of Chinese prejudice,
the film quickly reveals that Kuda isn't as demure as she first appears.
Like her new husband, Kuda practices martial arts, spending most of her days training in the courtyard. However, her
idea of practice isn't exactly what you'd call polite. The woman's a literal home wrecker! Ah To and his servants watch helplessly
as Kuda proceeds to knock over walls, destroy statues, and generally wreak havoc on her new home with gleeful aplomb.
When Ah To asks her to tone things down and perhaps learn the "more ladylike kung fu" practiced by Chinese women, Kuda
scoffs at his suggestion. Even worse, she orders all the Chinese weapons that Ah To stores in his personal gym to be removed
and replaced with her Japanese arsenal. When To tries to explain the historical and practical value of his Chinese fighting
implements, Kuda dismisses his opinion as ludicrous, happily mocking the Chinese way. Since Kuda fancies herself a martial artist,
To challenges her to a duel, in which they each would use the weapons of their respective countries. Kuda agrees, and loses each
battle, but in the end, she resorts to the less honorable (at least in To's eyes) art of ninjitsu, nearly killing her husband!
As one might guess, this duel doesn't help resolve their differences.
The confrontational behavior continues for most of the first act until Kuda, fed up with the arrangement, returns to Tokyo
to consult her sensei and possible ex-lover, Sanzo (Yasuaki Kurata). With his wife away, Ah To parties hard, but is later
convinced by his sniveling servant Hsiao Kwan (Cheng Hong-Yip) to send for her. Knowing she would be too proud to return
without good reason, Ah To writes a letter mocking the Japanese way in the hope that Kuda will be so enraged that she will return to
China immediately. Once back in Chinese territory, Ah To figures he can easily explain the ruse to Kuda and make a fresh start.
Unfortunately, all does not go to plan as the jealous Sanzo ends up reading the letter soon after Kuda receives it. Viewing it as a
slap in the face to all of Japan, Sanzo and the best fighters from his dojo head off to China to take up the gauntlet unintentionally
thrown down by our hero. Of course, Ah To is shocked to find the masters of kendo, karate, nunchaku, spear, sai, and judo at his
doorstep to answer his "challenge." After some hesitation, Ah To agrees to fight, using swords, drunken boxing, a three-sectioned
staff, a spear, two butterfly knives, and some baby oil (you'll see!) to counterattack his aggressors. Although he finds some success
in dealing with the masters proficient in only one style, Ah To faces a considerable challenge in Sanzo, a master not only of ninjitsu,
but of the all the previous Japanese styles Ah To encountered as well.

that requires the use of a second, or short sword. With his father's broken sword in hand and newfound skill, Gang regains
his confidence while promising Hsiao Man to give up a life in the jiang hu, or martial world. This promise is short-lived however
when Gang learns that the bandits, who are led by Smiling Tiger (Tong Dik) and Long-Armed Devil (Yeung Chi-hing), are

A rivalry between two renowned swordsmen turns deadly when an outcast swordsman turned lanternmaker with a score to settle begins kidnapping people close to both of them and using their skin to fashion lanterns.

In an effort to best his rival in a lantern festival, swordsman Lung (Lau Wing) commissions a reclusive craftsman named Chun Fang (Lo Lieh) to fashion a lantern for him. Chun agrees to perform the task, but for his own devious reasons. Years earlier, Chun was once a renowned swordsman, but he lost a fight with Lung, received a facial scare, and lost the woman he loved to Lung. Having been told a fanciful story of human lanterns, he decides to make his own with the skin of the people closest to Lung including his mistress and his wife. Lung also targets the sister of Lung's rival, Tan Fu (Chen Kuan-tai). When people begin to disappear, this causes both men to accuse the other of wrong doing, while the local law enforcement officer (Sun Chien) is at a loss for lack of evidence. Their rivalry turns serious when Tan hires a hitman (Lo Meng) to kill Lung. The plan fails and the two square off for a final showdown until the killer appears briefly in his costume and wielding a vicious unarmed kung fu style. Suspecting the lanternmaker, Lung goes to investigate his home where the killer waits for him.

Finger of Doom 1971

This Movie belongs to the "WuXiaPien", where Fantasy meets Martial Arts.
In this Genre one finds magical Abilities, Special Weapons and of course, Martial Arts.

("Finger of Doom" which turns her Opponents into obedient Zombies), in order to (how surprisingly) take over the so-called Martial World.

One-Armed Swordsman 1967

Bandits attack the martial household of Qi Rufeng (Tin Fung) after he is poisoned and his servant Fang Cheng (Guk Fung)
successfully defends him, but is mortally wounded in the process. His dying wish is met when Rufeng agrees to adopt
Cheng's son Gang and train him in martial arts. All Cheng leaves behind for his son is a sword broken in battle. As a young
adult, Gang (Jimmy Wang Yu) is Rufeng's most promising pupil, but disliked by his peers and toyed with by Rufeng's spoiled
daughter Pei Er (Pan Yingzi). As a result, Gang decides to leave, but is met in the night by his two sword brothers and Pei Er.
In a moment that everyone in attendance comes to regret, Pei Er recklessly lashes out at Gang when his guard is down and
cuts his right arm off. In shock, Gang stumbles away. He's rescued by a young woman named Hsiao Man (Chiao Chiao) who
helps him to recover, mentally, physically and emotionally. Gang is able to overcome his new handicap when Hsiao Man gives him
her father's kung fu manual. Though half of it is burned away, the remaining portion describes a left-handed fighting technique
that requires the use of a second, or short sword. With his father's broken sword in hand and newfound skill, Gang regains
his confidence while promising Hsiao Man to give up a life in the jiang hu, or martial world. This promise is short-lived however
when Gang learns that the bandits, who are led by Smiling Tiger (Tong Dik) and Long-Armed Devil (Yeung Chi-hing), are
returning again to kill his master. Though scorned and maimed by the clan he had hoped to never see again, Gang returns
triumphantly to honor his father's loyalty, his master's benevolence and his own pride.
