Biden is clearly far more liberal than he was 30 years ago. I think it's fine to call him out and hold him accountable. However I'm still supporting him over Trump as we only have two choices. Don't try that third-party bullshit because that's a waste of a vote.

This is good and bad advice, I agree with what you said but it shouldn't stop people for voting against those who do everything in their power to give tax breaks to the rich, make voting harder for people of color, take away women's choices over their own body, make terrible choices for the environment, ECT. I live in Florida, trust me. The damage these fools do will last lifetimes and cost lives. Just look at the amount of damage desantis has done in Florida from destroying our education system to denying aid for flooding zones, losing billion dollar job creating projects from Disney and so on. It's not an equal choice at the end, it's two bad choices. One is worse.

You're right. And if I lived in Florida (which I wouldn't because of the storms and political fuckery) I'd be planning my exodus. We should never think that just casting a ballot for the lesser of two white evils will pull our assess out of the fire. Everything you mentioned is associated with a personal choice. We should position ourselves to weather the storm not get blown away by it.

Again I agree with making sure you're in a position to weather any storm, yet still these political parties make decisions that effect all of our pockets and lives regardless if you're in a red or blue state. So I'm going to go ahead and vote for the lesser of two evils, shitty but clear choice.
Here's the thing about weathering storms, you're already kind of admitting that you have no control. You're looking out for self because you're frustrated but also feel helpless.
This is the lesson of America and it's the lesson that elites hope that the general populace embraces. Even when people opt out, they don't realize that they're still part of the system. Not only are they controlling the storm, they're governing that water.
Taxes? Education? Housing? Immigration? Maybe these things aren't relevant to you, but they're relevant to your kids. No kids? Your community? Don't care about your community and only care about yourself? Policy will still affect the most selfish person, in the long run.
The solution isn't to opt out or to vote for the other side out of spite. No modern political system will wholly favor a specific community and the nature of democracy is that not everyone is going to get what they want. But you and people that look like you can be better off when they're more politically active on a national, but more importantly a local level. I've lived in NYC and now Philly and I've always been abreast of local politics. I keep an eye on my city council actions and I advocate for safer streets. I've actually seen real solutions by being a participant and not playing the sidelines.
For everyone that doesn't care about politics and hates both parties. Do you. But understand you're willingly giving up an opportunity to be heard because nobody cares about your rants on a porn board.
I absolutely understand people that think the way you do. Let's say for arguments sake that I had voted in every election available to me since 1988 when I turned 18. None of the outcomes of those elections would have changed my circumstances one bit. I'm where I am today because I know how to navigate political climates not because somehow I've been led to believe my vote would change my life for better or for worse. Just like you said no one cares about my rants on a porn board, no one makes meaningful changes in their lives by voting. That doesn't make me selfish. I pay well over my fair share of taxes and I'm a federal employee whose job directly serves the interests of ALL Americans. Validating this fucked up system every voting cycle is simply a bridge too far for me. Sign me up for revolution but I'll pass on the status quo.

The incumbent is the leader of his party in this case the Democratic Party and unless he decides he doesn’t want to seek a second term then the party can open primaries for other candidates to be the new party nominee. I love how the masses have been convinced that the president who is four years old than his opponent is the one with major cognitive issues.
