Seeking Advice About Advertising Revenue

What's up y'all,

You know this topic is something serious to me, because I am about to give up my anonymity on this board in order to pose these questions. I have a blog that's been growing pretty steadily in popularity. Some of you may have visited it before, it's http://listentoleon.blogspot.com (not spamming, just giving you all a reference point). This summer, it was voted "Best Humor Blog" in the 2006 Black Weblog Awards. One of the prizes was a free domain and web hosting for 2 years. I've already started the transition of moving to www.listentoleon.net, and I've made new features like a store selling shirt designs I've done on spreadshirt.com and a few funny audio and video clips. Content for the site is not a problem because I have almost 400 entries in the archives of my free blog.

I want to put advertising on the site, and I'm redesigning it to accomodate different sized web ads. I would like to get advice on the best way to go about getting advertisers to run ads on there, as well as what type of ad tracking and placement software is recommended. I started to just individually ask a couple of the folks on here running successful sites for help, but I think this topic may be beneficial to others who are starting out in a similar manner. That's why I decided to make a thread. I appreciate all advice and input.

Unless you are a top 50,000 site your best bet may be to use a third party system. Look into google and I've been seeing blogads.com appear a lot (they specialize in connecting ads from companies to blogs, as opposed to regular websites). You mind sharing how many visits you get a day?
