I don't think so because my motherboard wouldn't recognize 2TB. It only saw it as 1TB. But I have an 1.5TB external and my computer sees it as 1.5TB.

But my motherboard has noted issues with higher capacity hard drives. I'm just waiting on an BIOS update.
 
What's the best external enclosure out these days?

I won't be bothering with another USB/firewire caddy. Next thing i'm going for will be a NAS unit with at least 4 x 2TB drives with the ability to link more units together...
