I had a Western Digital that was bad right out of the box. I was wondering why my computer would randomly reboot all the time. I found out why about a year later when my Western Digital hard drive developed unrecoverable bad sectors. I felt like crying because it was my main hard drive. Lost damn near everything because the hard drive was corrupted!

Point being all hard drives brands can fail. Occasionally some hard drive manufacturers have bad model batches that come out but I haven't heard of that happening in a while.
