@4 Dimensional

I stopped reading after this

When I get into discussion about movies, I tell people that "The Terminator" (1984), "The Matrix" (1999) and "I, Robot" (2004) are all interconnected. Most of us have seen "The Matrix," but very few can explain how did man get placed in the matrix and why?
When I read through the article I thought about these 3 movies, but then I had to go forward and then go back in time.

If you saw "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015) and was an avid comic fan you know that Marvel pulled a fast one in regards to the origin of Ultron. Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Bruce Banner (Hulk) have nothing to do with the creation of Ultron. Ultron is a creation of Henry Pym (Goliath/Ant-Man) by basing the robot on his own brain patterns, the robot gradually developed it's own intelligence and rebelled, and almost immediately develops an Oedipus complex, whereby it feels irrational hatred for Pym, and demonstrates an interest in Janet van Dyne (Wasp). It gets better, Ultron learns how to turn itself on and starts to upgrade itself. Ultron then hypnotised and brainwashes it's "father" into forgetting that the robot had ever existed.
Then creates the synthezoid "Vision" as a weapon to destroy the Avengers.

I could go deeper into Pym's past, but understand that he was abused by his alcoholic mother, and he had issues with drugs and alcohol also (if any of this sounds foreign to you think about the backgrounds of some of the mass shooters).Oh, did I forget to mention the Domestic violence acts perpetrated against his wife/girlfriend. No wonder Ultron was so screwed up.

Now I know that Ultron is just a comic book character, but LaMDA is real Artificial intelligence and the algorithms were designed by real software engineers. Now when Blake Lemoine is telling you that this AI is Sentient (able to perceive or feel things), how do we know someone like Henry Pym is not one of the software engineers?

The only connection between the three is that they're about artificial intelligence and none were the first science fiction work about AI. Terminator and Matrix (IIRC) are both based on work by Harlan Ellison and Matrix was definitely influenced by Grant Morrison's graphic novel The Invisibles.

I, Robot
was based on a collection of stories by Isaac Asimov who, in turn, took the title from a sci-fi book by Eando Binder. There are stories about AI as far back as the late 1800s so none of these are groundbreaking though.

Why, Thank you, Piff, very informative!

Black Kings...will ALWAYS EXIST...brah
You'd like to think so, but the most destructive force the world has ever known is white people. I don't know how they die and we survive. They kill the livestock, they poison the streams - and cultivate NOTHING.

What was the last thing White people cultivated for the good of man, not thinking of profit?

They hunt to extinction. They kill for fun. I mean, when was the last time a person, not the Arabs of 911, traveled hundreds of miles to kill people they didn't even know existed?

I'll wait

Black people and others kill out of anger and in attempt to eliminate a rival of some sort, not drive 200 miles and shoot up a store or a church

They would destroy the world if there was some profit in it for them (see gas prices...fuck everyone, we're making record profits).

They've shot holes in the ship that is America because they didn't win ONE ELECTION, and are destroying any attempt Biden has to turn it around (though Biden ain't doing us any favors)

We are fucked. If America was Noahs Arc they'd slalom into an iceberg on purpose just because there is a Black captain or there are Black people on board

Real talk, I'm gonna be like the Independence Day speech. "I will not goi quietly into the night..."

I will fight to my last breath, but those fuckers...

The way mother nature is going I cut that 100 in half to 50 years and I am still being generous :smh:
Mother Nature has nothing to do with it. The way THEY keep INVENTING disease, you're correct, even 50 is generous

For the last time they are not invention diseases…. Diseases are making a full combat because of mother nature hell we don’t know what the hell is buried in the ice that is Melting
I believe that, but COVID-19 was lab created for sure. Monkey pox I'm not sure, but the daughter of a friend of mine works for the CDC and 2 years ago she said COVID-19 is a combination of at least 3 different covid viruses on some "yellow and blue by themselves are harmless, but together they make green and green is dangerous"

In 50 years, AI will be real, they will realize that humans are destroying the planet, so for our protection, they will run things.
They will take care of us as we do animals in a zoo. No more wars or sicknesses, they will ban things like smoking and drinking, and eating poor quality food.
In the beginning, we won't like it, but as we grow old and die, our grandchildren will think of this as normal.
You heard it here first

Habitat destruction, increased population, and global travel are what's causing diseases to spread widely among humans. There's no need to create anything in a lab when you have the perfect storm for pandemics happening globally.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
We read the paper that forced Timnit Gebru out of Google. Here’s what it says.
The company's star ethics researcher highlighted the risks of large language models, which are key to Google's business.

On the evening of Wednesday, December 2, Timnit Gebru, the co-lead of Google’s ethical AI team, announced via Twitter that the company had forced her out.

Gebru, a widely respected leader in AI ethics research, is known for coauthoring a groundbreaking paper that showed facial recognition to be less accurate at identifying women and people of color, which means its use can end up discriminating against them. She also cofounded the Black in AI affinity group, and champions diversity in the tech industry. The team she helped build at Google is one of the most diverse in AI and includes many leading experts in their own right. Peers in the field envied it for producing critical work that often challenged mainstream AI practices.
