I missed last night...I may try to catch it tonight, but I saw a meteor shower on a cruise ship some years ago, and it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever seen.
First of all, out in the Caribbean, it's pitch black at night. The only other lights are other cruise ships, in the distance.
Most showers I'd seen before, you MIGHT see a meteor or two...very faint.
This was like a live version of Missile Command...ol school video game.
I was planning to catch it and told my fiance we needed to set our alarm, cuz on the ship, they were informing people about it.
After eating and drinking all day and night, I wanted to get up around 2 am to see it, but I couldn't pull myself outta bed until...
I was awakened by a super bright light that seemed to burst right outside my cabin window. This was NOTHING like what I expected. Then there were more bright streaking lights falling by the dozens.. maybe hundreds...there were too many to count.
I tried to get baby outta bed, to go up on deck to see it, but she wouldn't budge, so I slipped on some shorts and flip flops and joined a handful of folks checking it out.
I'm telling you, the night sky was lit up by what looked like huge streaks of white incoming missiles...
