RIP Sanborn
Damn, I am one of the last few people who still listen to smooth jazz. He was the man in the 80s and 90s. Rest in peace sir.
I fell in love with that song 25 years ago and always plays in my head occasionally. I always love smooth jazz since the 80s.Listen to SJ on a daily basis! This one hits hard
For me, this is the sexiest lick EVER played on a saxophone. He and Marcus Miller wrote it. Sanborn's improvisations are amazing on it. Marcus Miller's bass playing on it is impeccable, and Valerie Simpson's vocals is almost spiritual. Incidentally, I actually met her and Nick once when they were in the audience at the Appollo to see Sounds of Blackness live in concert.
