Ryan Lochte almost bum-rushed on Dancing With The Stars

i

Two men ran onto the stage toward Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte on Monday night during the season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC and had to be tackled by security.

Lochte, the second-to-last performer of the night, had just finished his performance with partner Cheryl Burke when the men, wearing anti-Lochte T-shirts, jumped onto the stage.

Los Angeles police said they arrested Sam Sododeh, 48, and Barzeen Soroudi, 40, both of Los Angeles, on trespassing charges. The two men had tickets but were not wearing the t-shirts when they first entered the studio, according to police. The show is broadcast live from CBS Television City in Hollywood, but airs on ABC.

"We want to publicize that this is a bad decision to have a liar be publicized as a star," one of the suspects was heard saying before being taking away by police.

The incident occurred while judge Carrie Ann Inaba was speaking to Lochte and Burke. Inaba, suddenly distracted, could be heard on the television broadcast saying, "Excuse me. Hey, back off. Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. Off, off. Excuse me."

Shadows of people racing toward the stage could be seen on television. Host Tom Bergeron was heard off camera saying, "Wow, OK," before sending the show to what appeared to an unplanned break. Behind Bergeron, both Lochte and Burke appeared flustered by the incident.

Security personnel tackled the two men and then removed them, along with four or five women from the audience who appeared to be part of the impromptu protest, according to ABC. Police were called and the two men were placed under arrest.

When the show returned from break, Bergeron said they had to go to commercials because they had a "little incident," and he thanked the show's security for its fast response.

A 12-time Olympic medalist, Lochte, 32, was banned for 10 months from domestic and international swimming competitions after an incident at a gas station in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics turned into an international story. Lochte kept changing his story, from initially saying he was robbed at gunpoint to then recanting and apologizing.

After the show, Lochte said, "We thought it was a joke, something part of the show, but when we realized it wasn't, that hurt, that broke my heart, that people are still on that subject and no one's moving forward."

His partner, Burke, added, "I' was just shocked. I didn't know if they like had anything, had a gun, i don't know what would have happened . . . My heart's racing. I thought I was really nervous for our dance, but this is just a whole other thing right now. This is insane."

The Lochte scandal from Rio was briefly mentioned both by Bergeron and the swimmer in a pre-performance taped segment. Lochte said during the piece that he was hoping to use "Dancing with the Stars" to show the world he had changed.

After the incident on the broadcast, Lochte told Bergeron he was doing "good", and Bergeron followed up by asking him, "When there is that strong emotion, what does it make you feel like?"

"So many feelings are going through my head right now," Lochte said. "A little hurt but, you know, I came out here and wanted to do something that I'm completely not comfortable with and I did and I came out here with a big smile and I had the best dance partner."

The judges, multiple times, assured Lochte they were only there to "judge his ballroom dancing."

"I'm shocked," Burke, Lochte's partner, said on the telecast. "And I'm hurt for Ryan. Me and Ryan have gotten the pleasure to know each other and he's an amazing guy. He's great. He's kind and he's just here working his butt off and trying to do what he's supposed to be doing, which is dancing.

"So I'm hoping people give him a chance."

Derek Hough, one of the other professional dancers, told People magazine that when the two men moved onto the stage, he also ran to the stage and yelled, "Get them out of here!"

"This is my home, and I was just so shocked that people would come here and be so negative," Hough, 31, told People. "This is a safe place for people to learn a new skill and seek redemption or start a new chapter in their life, and that's what Ryan is trying to do."

While Wells Fargo is robbing people behind their backs these dunbasses are more concerned about Lochte and who is kneeling for the flag.

Hopefully these assholes will get more than a slap on the wrist. Black people don't think of doing shit like this without suffering repercussions. Not that Lochte hasn't been an asshole either.

I wonder if they are from Brazil?

but remember people run up on tennis players baseball and football and soccer all the time...

and Kaep's knee apparently is so bad it threatens the space time continuum

So I am VERY curious to see how these dudes get charged if at all.

Cause Lochte damn near caused an international incident and was DEFENDED by these same proud Americans.

Cheryl Burke Reveals Ryan Lochte Suffered Ankle Injury When Protester Was Tackled on Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars' Cheryl Burke has returned to the reality dance competition she first joined in 2006, and she's blogging about season 23 exclusively for PEOPLE. FollowBurke and her partner Ryan Lochte, both 32, on Twitter!

Following an incident on Monday night's live premiere episode in which two men stormed the stage to protest Lochte's participation as a contestant on season 23, Burke reflects on the moments before, during and after the emotional ordeal.

Before everything happened last night, Ryan and I were on such a high from our foxtrot. He nailed it and I was proud of him. I could tell he was proud as well.

That confidence was something that definitely wasn't there at camera blocking on Sunday. Ryan was so nervous that it felt like his heart was beating outside his chest. And since we went second-to-last on Monday, I could feel his hands beginning to sweat as we watched from backstage while everyone else performed.

He was particularly nervous about how the audience was going to receive him. But after the opening number last night, I told him, "Did you hear people cheering? All these people are here for you and cheering for you."

Just before our dance I told him, "It's just you and me out there. Let's do this." And we really did. I couldn't have asked him to dance any better. I could tell Ryan was glad it was over but also that he felt good about what we'd done.

We were standing there listening to [judge Carrie Ann Inaba] give us her thoughts when I suddenly saw someone walking onto the ballroom floor in a t-shirt with a red line through Ryan's last name. My first thought was, "Is this a joke? Is this scripted and no one told us? Too soon, guys." But as soon as he started yelling "Boo! Lochte! Liar! Lochte!" I realized it was a serious situation.

My mind started racing. My initial concern was if the guy was armed or not. DWTS is a family show and I knew there were kids in the audience and I just didn't want anyone to get hurt.

Then I saw Dave – one of our security guys who I've known for years – come in and tackle this guy.

I looked up to Ryan and I could tell he was on the verge of tears. I could feel his heart sinking into his stomach – and to be honest, mine was too. They cut to commercial break and I just had him lock eyes with me and I was telling him, "You're amazing. Don't forget why you're here."

I started getting teary eyed and apparently was shaking, but I didn't even realize that until someone else pointed it out to me. I just wanted to be strong for Ryan. The first thing he did was turn to me and say, "I'm so sorry." I just told him, "Never tell me you're sorry again. These tears are just because I don't want you to be hurt or for you to lose your spirit."

Ryan really is such an amazing guy. I can't say that enough. Anyone who has watched me on the show over the years has seen me with partners I haven't connected to or had chemistry with and you can clearly see that we have a sibling bond. I almost feel like I'm a motherly figure to him right now.

Ryan's actual mom was in the audience and I just saw her bawling. After the show, I went up to her and just held her as she cried. She was with some other members of Ryan's family and they all started apologizing. I told them, "You all need to stop apologizing to me. Ryan is a great guy and I have his back 100 percent, so let's all keep moving forward and our heads up."

And we are definitely moving forward.

This morning, I got up and headed to rehearsal with the other pro dancers. Everyone is definitely a little shaken up about what happened, but it's good to be dancing and focused on next week's show.

I'm sure security will be increased for Monday's show but, honestly, I still feel 100 percent safe in the ballroom. We have an amazing security team who have worked on the show for years and they are incredible.

This afternoon I'm headed to rehearse with Ryan. I know it will probably take us a few weeks to put this incident behind us, but I know Ryan wants to move forward and he's not going to let this bring him down.

We have a quickstep this week and Ryan did injure his ankle a little when the protester got tackled, so we'll have to see how our first rehearsal goes. But at the end of the day, we are all just so grateful that no one was more seriously injured.

This is a family-friendly show that should never be the source of any hate. It's about celebrating dance and making people happy and I look forward to getting back to that next week.
