Bullshit!
So for all those who may be thinking of voting for Romney (the Mormon)., I had to post this because it was so hilarious and sad to me. I read a new article talking about Republicans bringing up Rev. Wright to attack President Obama. But then they started saying that this would be the WRONG thing to do because there are so many religious FACTS to talk about Mormonism. Don't take my word for it. Research for yourself. Have a great day!
Just to name a few:
1. They believe in magic underwear. I'm really not kidding!!!!
2. Jesus Christ restored the church that he created anciently by revelation to Joseph Smith both directly (as in the first vision) and through Angels and the Book of Mormon.
3. Until 1978, Black people denied Mormon priesthood. Black people were considered the seed of Cain, and the Lord had cursed Cain's seed with blackness and prohibited them the Priesthood.
4. The Virgin Mary really wasn't a virgin at all but had sex relations with their heavenly father to produce the Mormon version of Jesus Christ
5. Jesus made a visit to the Americas sometime after his resurrection and ascension.
6. Jesus will return to a Mormon temple called "Zion in Missouri", named as the place for the "City of Zion"; a land that will be purchased for "an everlasting inheritance".
7. Mormons think "familiar spirits" are good, and that their Book of Mormon has a "familiar spirit".
8. Women receive salvation only through their Mormon husbands, and must remain pregnant for all eternity.
9. Jesus had at least three wives and children while he was on this earth.
10. The "heavenly father" they ask you to pray to with them, is really an exalted man that lives on a planet near the star base Kolob, and is not the Heavenly Father of the Bible at all.
11. That Jesus was really Lucifer's brother in the spirit world, and it was only due to a "heavenly council" vote that Jesus became our redeemer instead of Satan!!
12. Jesus' death on the cross only partially saves the believer.
13. The Mormon movement began with "the prophet" Joseph Smith, Jr. in the year 1820. Joe (as he was known) was born to some rather strange parents in 1805. His mother, Lucy, was involved in occult practices and visions, while his father, Joseph, Sr., consumed much time with imaginary treasure digging (including the booty of Captain Kidd). According to Mormon writings (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith - History 1:1-25), on a day in 1820, Joe was praying in the woods when he received a vision from God the Father and Jesus. It was revealed to Joe that the church was in apostasy and he was the chosen one to launch a new dispensation. The Mormon book, The Pearl of Great Price, claims that all other Christian groups are "corrupt" and are an "abomination" in God's sight (Joseph Smith, 2:19).
14. Mormons deny the Trinity.
15. Mormons dent the existence of a literal burning Hell.
16. Mormons promote polytheism (many gods).
17. Mormons believe in baptism for the dead.
