Mass Shooting in Grays Ferry Kills Three, Injures Nine
July 7, 2025
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Facts:
On July 7, 2025, at 12:56 a.m., a mass shooting on the 1500 block of South 27th Street killed three men (19, 23, 24) and injured nine others.
Victims included a 15-year-old girl, two 17-year-old boys, and a 19-year-old in critical condition with two head wounds; over 100 shots were fired.
Police, monitoring the area for prior disturbances, found dozens of shell casings; one armed person was detained, but their role is unclear.
Nine victims were taken to Penn Presbyterian, three to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; one non-shooting injury occurred while fleeing.
The shooting, part of a violent Fourth of July weekend with six homicides, prompted increased police patrols; no suspects are confirmed.
Got guns with switches and never been to a range before. Just firing indiscriminantly into crowds not giving a fuck who gets hit so you can go on the Gram and brag about killing your ops. Killing innocents used to be looked down on. But then again, so did snitching on yourself.

Some innocents did get shot, but I think so far the bodies have just been people in the war. Posting on IG where the party isn't wasn't smart in retrospect. You shouldn't have to worry about a cookout getting shot up, but we don't live in SHOULDN'T world.
This is a fair take. Philly been crazy as fuck with this war but The Chi still gets the attention because it's a golden goose talking point for Republicans.
In 2021, Philly hit 562 murders. The equivalent would be 967 murders in Chicago (adjusting for population). That's a number Chicago hasn't hit going back to 1990. Even in the height of the "War in Chiraq" shit Ak was pushing, it didn't come close to that.
I'm not downplaying the violence at all, but Chicago gets a bad rap for political points.

Back in the day, you stayed out of trouble because you wanted that good pension job with the city and you needed a clean record.
Back in the day, the O.G.'s would tell you to stop the fuck shit and get to school.
Back in the day, there were after school programs that provided recreational activities and tutors to help with homework.
There were countless services and community group efforts to help keep young people on the right path.
Today there isn't anything out here to help the majority of kids.
Sadly crime and street life are always waiting for them.

Everything is about clout these for youngbuls and since most OGs don't have it or give a shit about it, the youngins don't care what they have to say. I knew shit was chalked after Saadi got killed and Meek said he'd get all the drill rappers deals if they agree to put the guns down. They really told him, "Pick a side pussy or shut up."
I at least hope that these were the individuals who got hit as opposed to an innocent kid who isn't involved and just wanted to hang out.
But it's more likely that the innocents were the ones who became victims of this ignorance
