RGIII still hasn't learned to protect himself; gets injured again

That was really stupid on my mans RG3 part he thought he was jerome bettis or somebody trying to run over a CB like that

wasn't expecting shit from my browns this year but a whole bunch high draft picks, only if hue can get the right players we well be ok we cant miss on picks anymore or we will have to wait another 10 years to clean up the mess of past regimes

everybody all ways scream we need a QB if we had Brady, luck or Cam they would get torched with this O-LINE dont matter what QB you have if they always getting sacked and pressured they cant produce starts up front on both sides of the ball when the browns figure that out we will be fine

smh. Just get out of bounds man.

He still hasn't learned.

He was running out of bounds. TE didnt hold his block. DB came off block and smashed RG3.

Im sure one of the "analysts" on TV will be objective enough to point this out today tho...

He really wasn't going ONLY out of bounds though...he was still moving up field to get the extra yard. He's not built for any extra contact. Slide or get the fuck out of bounds...like run in a straight line out of bounds.

Yeah. Barnidge should have tried harder to hold the block but this was going to happen eventually anyway because dude hasn't learned how to slide and protect himself.

Retire. Spend your money wisely and leave then Devils alone and you'll be just fine. Is retire. Fuck it.

Disagree. The DB who hit him was standing out of bounds where RG3 was running to.

There was three minutes left in the game and they were in 4 down territory so there was no reason for him to make that much effort to run out of bounds.

The TE had nothing to do with RG3 not sliding.

It looks like he even lowered his shoulder.

I'm not saying he wasn't heading out of bounds. I'm saying that he was also trying to get the extra yardage and not "running out of bounds solely to avoid contact". he wasn't anywhere near the first down marker...not getting into field goal range..etc...the extra couple of yards meant nothing....slide or get out of bounds.

That's what I saw as well. He definitely had an opportunity to get out of bounds but decided to be greedy for more yards

There is a time to play hard and a time to play smart. He was playing hard, but given the circumstances..deep in your own territory, 3rd and 14 and you're several yards short of the marker... first game of the season.. get the fuck out of bounds or slide! RG3 is fragile. He's built for taking that kind of hit. That hit would have fucked up most QBs..but most would avoid that shit by sliding and giving themselves or just getting out of bounds...even if they had to lose a bit of yardage to avoid the contact.

He was evading the sack. Second defender had him in his sights barreling down so he turned on angle to avoid him then headed toward sideline. He didnt lower shoulder at all, he didnt see that defender until it was too late. And again, the defender that hit him was OUT OF BOUNDS.

Read above.

Fuck off.

Robert Griffin III put on injured reserve with shoulder injury

BEREA, Ohio -- Robert Griffin III has a fractured bone in his left shoulder and will miss at least the next eight games for the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Monday.

Griffin was placed on injured reserve; if he is designated as the team's player to return, he could return to practice in six weeks, but he must miss a minimum of eight games. Browns coach Hue Jackson was asked if Griffin is done for the season.

"No, I think he'll be designated for IR," Jackson said. "We'll get an opportunity to see where he is four weeks from now and go from there."

Though surgery is not required on the fractured coracoid bone, the team said Griffin's shoulder will not be re-evaluated for three to four weeks. The earliest he could return would be Nov. 10 at Baltimore.

"It's very unfortunate, Robert came in and has worked extremely hard to learn our offense and earn the respect of his teammates," Jackson said in a statement released by the team. "This is a tough loss because everyone has seen how invested he has been in this team and his dedication to the work needed to improve his craft.

Jalen Mills jumped out from behind Browns tight end Gary Barnidge and surprised Griffin at the sideline.

The hit was significant, and Griffin was checked on the sideline. At one point, trainers took Griffin's helmet away, but he convinced the medical staff he could return. He went back for the final three plays of the game, handing the ball off three times.

Griffin otherwise struggled in the opener, completing 12-of-26 for 190 yards with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception (on a tipped pass). The Browns had three drops and one bobbled catch, but 102 of Griffin's yards came on two deep passes. On other throws, he was 10-for-24 for 88 yards.

Griffin's injury puts Josh McCown back on the field. The Browns kept the 37-year-old McCown for this insurance. Griffin has had injuries throughout his NFL career, and when he runs, the risk increases.

Cleveland will Baltimore in Week 2 on Sunday.

McCown faced the Ravens twice last season, throwing for 457 yards in an overtime win in Baltimore and then completing 21-for-28 before breaking his collarbone in the infamous "Kick Six" game in Cleveland.

"Robert will do everything in his power to rehab and get healthy, but Josh McCown is on this roster for a reason, and we have great confidence in him," Jackson said in the statement. "He is more than capable. His veteran presence has been an asset to our team throughout our process of preparing for the season. We look forward to him assuming the role of the starter and leading our offensive unit."
