Real Talk from a Sista

i watched the whole thing...

c/s on everything that woman said.

the woman of my dreams doesn't wear weaves.

I liked it, she was interesting to watch.... no offense to TonyaTKO, who i like a few of her vids too, but I'd watch this more.. its more youthful..

Absolutely beautiful sista right there. I've always had a thing for sistas with naturally styled hair (locks, braides, afros etc). God blessed us with the best hair ever! Yet many of us fold to the CAC metric for beauty/acceptability.:smh:

Three reasons sistas wear weaves, IMO, and I may very well be wrong here, but meh ...

1) To conform to the CAC ideal
2) Because they're going bald due to years of chemical treatment of their hair (starting as early as childhood), because they want hair that's more "manageable".
3) See (1) then (2)

They'll be less than 10 posts, someone will call it a bait thread, and no one will discuss the video. It's a vicious cycle.

What are we supposed to say??? how we abhor her views and want to protest our rights to wear weaves? call her a "natural nazi" like someone did on her comments?? Why do we have to comment?? can't it just be watched and reflected on??? There are already multiple SOL posts on hair and weaves and blah blah.. do we really have to be this redundant? Its a vicious cycle...

(btw) I do NOT wear weaves, so I couldn't relate, but I felt where she was coming from. But hair damage is NOT solely an african american thing... Many white or other girls have hair that is "fried, dyed, and blow-dried."
