Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do it

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

He broke the record didn't he?

Jerry rice the goat tho

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

Would you rather he say "2nd best..."?

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

he is suppose to say that. if you dont believe in yourself who will. no big deal here

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

The only thing that will keep him from being first ballot is a ring.

GO RANDY!

*two cents*

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

I know he is pissed he spent his prime years making Dante a career. Wasn't Dante out of the league soon after Moss left? :smh:

I got no problem with him saying it. He's not, though, but there's no issue.

I know that I have never, in all my years of watching football, seen a more gifted or dangerous receiver than Randy Moss. He could have a game where he only caught three balls but it would be for 140 yards and 2 TDs.

I know he is pissed he spent his prime years making Dante a career. Wasn't Dante out of the league soon after Moss left? :smh:

Daunte getting his knee blown apart the season after Randy got traded did more to knock him off than anything. He actually held on for 5 more seasons after that, but he was never quite the same.

They actually had a good thing going when they were together. He pretty much disappeared until he got to New England and then disappeared again when he left. Outside of Brady, he never had the better chemistry with any QB other than Culpepper.

Dante began to believe that he could do it with anyone else...endorsed criticism against Moss; Moss was shown the door, and Dante began his downward plummet and was out of the league soon after

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

Moss forgot that people prefer false modesty over genuine confidence (uppitiness) in Black male public figures.

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

Moss is the goat behind Jerry

so yeah anybody say otherwise some hatin ass niggas

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

Moss said this nearly a decade ago, "I can do everything Rice can do & things he can't. I'm better than him".

Only knock I've ever had w/ Jerry was he never left Walsh's tree...whereas Moss was productive in Denny's system, Norv's system, & in Hoodie's.

Dante began to believe that he could do it with anyone else...endorsed criticism against Moss; Moss was shown the door, and Dante began his downward plummet and was out of the league soon after

He was consigning that bullshit :smh:

He was beginning to think it was all about him, that shit he said at the pro bowl was treason...he brought it on to himself.

.

The problem is that he can't and never has done everything that Rice has.

He had the natural gifts and the more "talented" and "explosive" WR.... but dude rarely blocks, doesn't run through the middle of the field, and can't even remotely run routes as well as Rice.

Rice was right when he said Moss wasted a lot of his talent and could have been the goat (and he still is top 5 wide receiver of all-time).

Rice beats Moss easily on stats (and that says a lot considering Moss played during a pass-happy era), rings, being the complete player, team leader.... I mean where can anyone honestly say Moss beats Rice on anything beyond being the bigger deep threat because of his ridiculous speed and athleticism.

Daunte was having an abysmal season before he got hurt. It's amazing that Moss put up the numbers he did with Culpepper. Moss went to play with more second-rate QBs in Oakland. :smh:

It's easy to pile on the "only play sometimes" myth, but how much more could Moss have gotten done? There's only so many plays a game, so many passes, how much greater could he have been? 49ers were champs before Rice got there...Moss didn't go to a championship level team. He got them a play from the Super Bowl, but those teams were never complete. Same with the blocking & route running, they all play into his lazy narrative.

The whole deep ball thing is like asking Shaq to shoot jumpers like Ewing or Hakeem. He played with the best possession receiver to ever play the game, why would he work the underneath & you got Carter there??? He worked underneath in NE & was pretty effective.

He'll never be considered greater than Jerry, but he's the main person I'd expect to say he is.

Rice was like Jordan. Those cats ALWAYS gave 100 percent. I'm not piling on Moss as much as keeping it 100. When you call yourself the GOAT, you are being compared to guys like that. So that is a major knock on him when he would half-ass it. And that shit was not a media creation. I've watched games where dude was dogging it.

Nope. That basketball argument is not congruent because Shaq never said he could do anything that Hakeem could do. Moss did. However, I've never seen him consistently block, run routes, etc like Rice.

Rice has actually made the same argument. That Moss could have been the goat if he really put in the full effort.

Oh, yeah, he was having a shitty season before he got hurt, but you're framing it like Daunte was trash that only did anything because of Randy and saying that wasn't the case. Culpepper had a unique skill set. He was deadly accurate -- he was the first QB in NCAA history to complete 70% of his passes for a season, and he could move at 260 lbs. like a running back. He was the first big quarterback you ever saw that was real passer yet also a running threat. Today, that's a lot more commonplace.

The biggest knock I ever had on him was his decision-making and I put that on his development being stunted under that bullshit system Mike Tice ran with the Randy-ratio where every read was based on levels which is elementary type stuff.

Of course I can't prove that he wasn't trash with numbers alone because his best years were with Randy and he never fully came back from that injury which is part of why he never could find a team to stick to after the Vikings. I'm just looking at him purely from a technical standpoint: footwork, accuracy, arm strength. He was one of the best guys Randy ever played with.

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

You can't take years off and be considered the greatest...

Never saw Rice quit on plays...as I did Randy many times, especially here in New England.

Moss was great, maybe even second to Rice...but better, nah.

this

Rice is the GOAT

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

Everybody acts like Moss is the only person to take plays off. Even Rice did it, Moss just had the balls to tell the truth. If my job was to take the top off the defense by running deep post or fly plays every pass play, I'll be slacking every now and then too.

Re: Randy Moss at Media Day: I'm the greatest receiver to ever do itt

can anybody answer wtf happen to randal cunningham after randy moss rookie season..them dudes had the best offense ever than they lost to da falcons..than the runningback retired and randal went ghost..i never heard or seen dat guy after that year..the vikings had unfinished bizz and it's like they said fuck it

Stop letting jealous white men tell you what a sport player does on the field. Heck most of the guys saying that bullshit have never played or knew if he was hurt.

Fuck outta here with that bullshit. I've watched games for decades. Rice went all in ... Moss walked through plays sometimes. Aint no cracka convincing muthafuckas of things real football fans could see with their own eyes.
